Joyce was too wholesome and honest for #RHOBH. She didn't "need" the show, Brandi did. I get that she's a little sanctimonious and self absorbed too but I think she was too wholesome and honest. Producers just saw her as "boring". I think Brandi had an issue with Joyce because Joyce had everything that Brandi didn't (at the time} She was in a very unhappy stage of her life. I am not giving her a pass for her bad behaviour but her trashy scene stealing ways were GREAT for reality TV, whereas Joyce was not. Joyce was right to do one season and move on with her fabulous life. As for Brandi being "racist". Maybe so.

I liked Joyce on RHOBH. I think every newcomer should be given a 2nd season and a chance to be shown in a different light. I thought Joyce held her own, was beautiful, smart, positive and represented a diversity that isn't on the show. All of the women on the show, except Kyle, prehaps Kim, were rude to her including Lisa so I am surprised Joyce and Lisa are good friends. Anyway I enjoyed this interview one of the best yet on this show.

Bravo didn’t know what to do when a REAL queen touched down. They accepted Brandi racist comments just like the rest of the cast. That’s why they also envied Lisa. Lisa and Joyce were grounded, didn’t care for drama and have loving husbands. Edit: I actually stopped watching after Joyce’s debut season because of the way this beautiful soul was portrayed. And prior to Joyce’s season I told my mother why is it these women keep fighting like little high schoolers over the most trivial nonsense. Love her! She seems authentic. I wish they would have shown more of her on the show. It’s interesting to hear all the scoop about what they didn’t air and about what they cut together to air. Hearing her and more of the housewives like (Vicki from the OC on her new podcast).. makes it seem like most of everything we see on the show is manipulated. Which is why I wonder why the fans get so nasty in the comments. :/ love these shows but I do wish fans would realize it’s just a show and wouldn’t get nasty. “Drama, drama, drama” as Kristen C. once said on the hills! 😘

The show is more scripted than I imagined. Tamra also reaveld the scene in the car talking about " the train" was all staged. I Still love the show, but I have lost some respect for the show in general after learning all of this. I love Vickie's podcast.
