The Rankin Family was a wonderful gift from Canada to this old Texas boy. Thank you Heather, for your part and for this wonderful song. Those we lose aren't truly lost. They are just waiting for us in a new land. They won't leave without us so we can take our time and travel that road when the time is right.

My older sister is 44 years old and battling brain cancer and she was diagnosed 1 year ago. My older sister and I grew up very close and this song brings us closer together cause it speaks to and from the heart. Thank you for the song with such great meaning and it will be a special song for me and my older sister. I don't know how long she has and I am dedicating this song to my older sister. Kenny

The Rankins are one amazingly talented family. Love this song and the video as sad as this song is this video brings me back some amazing memories. Worked up on Mabou ridge back in 1993 building a barn for a dairy farm. Spent all my breaks listening to my Rankin family, Rita McNeil and Men of the deeps cassettes. Thanks again for this song and video. I would love to live in Mabou when I retire

I know exactly where that was filmed, although I’m a Torontonian born and bred, I’m an east coaster at heart, my mom being from Antigonish NS, and the rest of my family scattered all throughout the Maritimes, it’s in my blood, it’s in my very soul, and gets my heart to beating to the sound of Canada, from my Irish ancestry.

WE WALK AS ONE (H. Rankin/D.Tyson) A humble abode at the end of the road That’s what we called home We built our dreams from nothing it seems Working dimes to the bone Through thick and thin around and back again We held our own Cause we walked as one We may be wandering down different roads I still believe we walk as one Chaos and laughter raising the rafters No room to breathe It was duly noted we weren’t voted Most likely to succeed But we made our choice to find our voice In harmony And we walked as one We may be wandering down different roads I still believe we walk as one It wasn’t all good news as the decades flew There isn’t anything I wouldn’t do To be with the ones who passed away too soon The pumpkin’s carved there’s frost on the yard A first winter’s kiss I feel inclined to go back in time And reminisce And chiming in is an old violin playing my heartstrings And I began to sing We may be wandering down different roads I still believe, still believe We may be wandering down different roads I still believe I still believe we walk as one I'm a little slow responding but here you go! Thanks for following. Heather
