Lulu Dumpling unbelievable isn't it. These are artist quality pencils with pigment and something like a wax ingredient that allows you to blend the colors. Truly photographic results

its kind of both, but the end results are often the same. For example, someone born with natural talent as an artist might pick up realism drawing much quicker with less effort compared to someone who just practises. But as i said, they'll both often meet at the same skill level.

n w Art is indeed in the eye of the beholder, but only a blind eye could fail to see the perfection in this piece. You’re obviously a fan of representational or more abstract art; there are superb representational artists out there. This young woman is focusing on realism, which is, technically, much more difficult to achieve. I would pit her skill set against any artist I’ve seen over the years, and I’ve seen literally thousands. I’ve been publishing commercial and editorial artwork for over 40 years, so believe I have the right to judge. Representational pieces can be genuinely beautiful, and are popular as editorial art some years, and not so much in others. Stylistic art is dependent upon what’s in vogue at a particular time. For everyday gallery and commercial sales, however, realism still wins the day. Realism always sells. If you are a professional, you literally don’t eat if your art doesn’t sell. My earlier comment appears to have hurt your feelings-I didn’t attack anyone, incidentally-clearly, however, you are passionate regarding your own opinion. Perhaps you’ll permit me to stick with mine as well. I, too, appreciate more painterly works, but technically speaking, I see no need for improvement here. A great many thumbs down for gifted artists do indeed come from jealous viewers, that’s the nature of the human condition.
