Here I show the repair and modification of a Heathkit Sb200
Correction...
Band switch / rotary switch part was called a wiper and stator. Correct term is wafer
First shown switch contacts , would have worked for for the donor contacts
No solder put on nuts as are stainless steel , thread lock used on screw threads to prevent nuts from backing off
Forgot to add , always be sure to remove any carbon traces from ceramic form .

I love the fact that you employ common sense when deconstructing something so you don't have to destroy the case I run into this in the field all the time and my industry where younger people just don't think if something is trash it needs to be demolished use the least path resistance

Great work. Just picked up a stock SB-200 from a yard sale. Have built many a Heathkit so am looking forward to upgrading this baby. Your video was very helpful. Can you comment on replacing the RCA jack with a SO-239, do you have to remove the SWR unit and is that as difficult as it looks?

Congrats on your score. No , the directional coupler only need be removed when replacing the output so-239 Takes time Be careful not to damage the t/r relay when installing an so-239 for the input 73

Would it be possible to replace that unobtanium rotary switch with a modern one that drove some relays to do the actual switching or something?

Switch contacts can be changed, not feasible to have a relay setup

Can you or anyone suggest a good quality HV wire to use in these amps? I bought a CB'd SB-200 that had a burn from a soldering iron on it and it arced through to ground on initial power up. I can't find any information on what I need to buy to replace this wire.
