Heathrow Parking Hack - Where to park when leaving T5 and returning to T3

Ever wondered how to deal with the conundrum of where to park when you are leaving the UK on a BA flight from Heathrow T5, but returning on another airline to either T2 or T3? This video shows you the answer (spoiler alert: T5 Long Stay!) and why this works.

I did this exactly route last night. Parked in area “D” of the terminal 5 long stay and walked through gap in fence to “area E” of terminal 2/3 business parking. Exactly as in this video - no issues at all. Thank you so much for posting this video :-)😊😊😊

I suppose this works if you want to save money on parking in Terminal 5 too? Book 2/3 business parking and then walk across to get the T5 bus? I see the 2/3 business parking is £20 cheaper the T5 long stay for 8 days in April.

Thanks for your video. Prices for parking at Heathrow seems to have more than doubled in 3 years. Any tips on reasonable prices for T5 please?

Hi Michael, thanks for taking the time to comment. I stopped flying regularly in mid 2019 so I haven't needed to secure parking at Heathrow for some years now. Other than the usual thing of booking early and choosing a car park that blends cost and convenience, I've no other tips. I know you haven't asked about Gatwick but I have recently discovered that there is a well signposted walking route from Gatwick Long Stay (South) to the South terminal which eliminates the need to take the bus and only takes 15 minutes assuming you don't have much luggage. That would save a good chunk of money versus parking in Short Stay.

Presumably you can do that in reverse? Im flying out of T3 and returning to T5. Is there still a gap in the fence?

You certainly could back when I filmed the video. Some others have tried it since and reported that the gap is still there, but I don't think there's been any feedback in the last six months or so. If I were you I'd try it and if the gap is closed just walk out of the car park via the barriers, walk up the road a few metres and come back in on the other side. Also this was my first ever video for KZbin and I'd film/edit it very differently these days!

I did get the dent sorted using a local company (fixadent.co.uk) and I paid for it. Annoying, but there you go.

@@MostlyHelpful that sucks. I’m planning to park in T2 and T3 long stay car park for around 6 weeks. I’ve seen quite a few reviews of peoples catalytic converters being nicked when they parked there. Im quite nervous leaving my car there for so long!
