The heating torch "DONMET" 218, hereinafter referred to as the torch, is designed for heat treatment of rails.
DESIGN AND PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION
The torch consists of a shank, tip and a head.
The torch shank has adjusting valves for oxygen (blue) and acetylene (red).
The gas valves consist of a stem with a locking cone, a knob, sealing rings and a sealing nut.
The tip has a mixing chamber and injector for making oxy-gas mixture and supplying this mxture to the head union. The union equpped with inlets for supplying and draining coolant into the head cooling circuit. The inlets (oxy-gas mixture and coolant) are closed with a hermetic casing. Ther is a safety valve installed in that casing.
The head is installed on the tip and serves to form a flame. The head has a cooling circuit that connects to the inlets on the tip.
The oxygen is delivered to the torch by a hose through a nipple attached to the torch with a slip nut that has right-hand thread G1/4 and further through the blue oxygen valve into the mixing device (injector).
Acetylene is delivered to the torch by a hose through a nipple attached to the torch with a marked slip nut, that has left-hand thread G1/2 LH and further through the red gas fuel valve into the mixing device (injector).
Gas flow is adjusted with the corresponding valves.
