I don't understand how the thread doesn't tear the hair up... 🤔

If I left it in its original form, I feel like it would, but by doubling it a few times before threading it becomes thick. Because of the thickness it has no ability to cut. Almost like wrapping with yarn, but not as drying.

Your hair could be tangling due to the thread itself. If you use cotton thread, it will dry your hair out and cause tangles. I know from experience.

That's good advice. I think that I may be using the polyester thread...it doesn't quite feel like cotton.
