Heaton Park Tramway 22 July 2018

Its been a while since my last visit to the Heaton Park Tramway so on Sunday I went along to their 'Tramtastic' event.
The now fully recommissioned 623 joined 765 and 96 to operate a 3 car service.
A suffragette re-enactment by the Herizon Creative Women’s Group took place on the same spot where Emmeline Pankhurst and the suffragette movement marched 100 years ago in Heaton Park.
Many Thanks to all who took part in the suffragette re-enactment for their excellent performance and to everyone at the Heaton Park Tramway for a well organised and thoroughly enjoyable day.

I'm not at all sure what progress has been made with this, if any. Its been a while since my last visit and there is very little info. Sorry I cant be more helpful.

Good to see some footage from Heaton Park again, I just wish they would update their website as it's hard to know when they have an event on these days. Hope you were on your best behaviour, some of those lasses look like they could handle themselves. Good job Cliff wasn't there or they would have had him strung up from the overheads! :-)

I agree with you the lack of info on the website, they seem to rely on Facebook now. Yes putting Cliff in that position would have been like putting the cat in with the pigeons. I think we're all going to miss Cliff, He was a proper 'Jack the Lad' character.

Thanks a lot for the update. I do appreciate that it isn't always easy to get people to update websites, but then again a lot of people don't use Social Media or have no intention of doing so, or can't easily find random events in the thousands of items posted daily on them, so all available means of publicising events need to be used. There are other options that don't require webs skills such as sites like 'Steam Heritage Guide', which have online diaries that details can be submitted to via an online form, and this will get it to the right target audience, and also get it picked up by various search engines (and it's free), local 'What's On' sites are another option. The fact that we are missing these events suggests that there is a problem with only using Social Media that needs to be addressed: www.steamheritage.co.uk/steam-rallies-and-events
