good video. But i don't understand the point of heat shield between exhaust pipes and car under carriage floor?

Thank you for your comment. The reason we shield the pipes above the pipes and below the floor is too keep unwanted heat come coming up through the floors and into the car. They work as a reflective barrier.

Will it stick to rubber undercarriage coating
@Heatshieldproducts

Thank you for watching. No sir unfortunately it does not like rubber under coatings, it likes clean smooth surfaces.

Mine tore off and white powder was inside. (03 Trailblazer) What's the material? Asbestos?
@Heatshieldproducts
@Heatshieldproducts 2 ай бұрын
Most new car manufacturers stopped using asbestos in the early 1990s due to health risks so we highly doubt it. If you are not certain you may want to test it.

what did you put between the aluminum panels and the steel to avoid corrosion?

Kyle- first thank you for watching. Second truth be told I am not 100% sure. I believe Autoworks just used a special primer. I believe the final intent is after the car is running 100% and shaken down, it will then come apart and head to paint.

@@Heatshieldproducts OK - I've been planning something like this for my 76 GMC Motorhome as the pipe and pavement cook the dual fuel tanks and create vapor lock. I wanted an air gap between your product and the actual tank, and wanted to use aluminum, but was not sure. Am considering silicone washers... just got my box from amazon while out at lunch so perfect timing.

@@KyleRollinsMammothSolutions That's what Autoworks did. They make a stand off aluminum panel, put the Sticky Shield on that stand off. In this case, because they still planned on finishing the car later with paint it's a great way to go. However, if you are not going to redo or repaint, just put the Sticky Shield right on the fuel cell. The more airspace you get between the heat source and the heat shield the better the performance will be.

@@Heatshieldproducts I just bought the RV in February and am learning its issues. The tanks need to have surface rust removed and then repainted...so I'll be restoring / retromod'ing the setup. I'm fairly confident I wanna go with a standoff between the pipe and side of the tanks, but for the radiant heat from pavement on the bottom of the tanks I'm gonna go directly on the tanks. Also guessing I should NOT have been riding that ole 455 big block around 75-80 mph for hours at 3pm in south Georgia... I couldn't have put it thru a harsher test. Luckily a short stop at Cracker Barrel for an early dinner got us home at a cool 55-60 mph. Hoping just to get a few MPH back with this and protect the tanks from more elements / exposure to hot asphalt.

This video is from a few years ago before we did the editing in house. I am trying to find the original to modify the sound. Sorry it is so loud.

We totally get it. This video was produced over 5 years ago. We could take it down... but the information is very good.
