I went to school with Sean at Hartland College. He was one of my closest friends while I was there in the 1998-99 school year. He had infectious enthusiasm for ministry, and always had a smile on his face. One of the brothers that you wanted to be around always. I am saddened by this news, but looking forward to seeing him again in the first resurrection.

My joy every Sabbath is to come home from church and check into your sermon for that Sabbath. I knew something was wrong Sabbath when I looked for #5 of the Essentials and it was someone else preaching. Then I saw "why" the next day. I was blessed when as a young man in high school struggling through canvassing summer of 1999, your brother Sean showed up in New Jersey. His positive and smooth presence, uplifting encouragement and heartfelt faith gave me the boost that I was missing. "You're a soldier for Christ" was his mantra, and that has stuck with me since then. I was able to run into him at Southern years later and shared how I held him dear to my heart. I look forward to reuniting with him one day. He indeed was a soldier for Christ.

My deepest condolences to you and your family, Pastor Myers, as well as Sean's wife and children. I met Pastor Myers about a week after Sean's diagnosis when he preached a week of prayer at my children's academy. We spoke after one of the sessions, and I shared with him that my sister was diagnosed with blood cancer the same week as Sean. In spite of his pain, he poured so selflessly into our children and everyone in attendance for five days. We really appreciate how you went above and beyond your feelings to minister to our children during such a difficult time in your life. Your crown will have numerous stars in it! Heaven's Diary - What a beautiful way to speak to your brother Sean, in his final hours. How I wish I could play this to my mum to ease her through hers. She appreciated your well studied and presented messages from the bible. It would have been a wonderful affirmation between her and the Lord. Many I have known could have heard this but didn't, some left quietly and some suddenly. May many more play this beautiful tribute to those they care for in their bed at home or in hospital, but better before... while there still is time for God to speak with each wonderful human being on earth.

i was diagnosed about a week after Sean -- stage 4+ terminal, untreatable, metastatic cancer. Heaven's Diary hit me, as i face death too, and feel unworthy and insecure in my salvation. there are parts in there that make me wonder and question. of course, i feel that i don't have time to worry, but i think it's part of the dying process. i wish i could feel as secure as Sean. my heart breaks for the family and i wonder why i am alive when i shouldn't be -- is it because my heart is not right with GOD and HE is giving me time to change? but, what can i do when my body does not have the energy to live, let alone be active and search... is this satan trying to get ahold of me? is GOD willing to meet me where i am in my faith? so many questions still need answered. i trust that only through GOD's grace and JESUS' crucifixion, resurrection, and ascention is what i need to accept and believe.
