If you put powder of some sort onto the latex after its dry, it won't stick together when you dip multiple fingers at once. I think you'd have to paint on the latex first, let it dry, then powder before doing any nail painting. But baby powder will work... give it a good dusting and then the latex won't be sticky!
@bryleemiddleton94478 жыл бұрын
TYSM for this tip! I've always struggled with that problem!
@MSLP8 жыл бұрын
I do want to give that a try sometime, I'm just worried about getting the powder in the water & how that may affect the next bullseye
@LaynieFingers8 жыл бұрын
My Simple Little Pleasures I think if you dust if off well, it shouldn't make that much of a difference. Maybe paint a section of your test sheet with simply peel, dust it well & remove the excess, then test a few marbles to see what happens? I'm all about testing! 😁
@MSLP8 жыл бұрын
that's an excellent idea - I never thought about testing it during my actual polish testing LOL
@LaynieFingers8 жыл бұрын
That's why it's good to have multiple eyes on a problem- different experiences can combine into good ideas! 😁

Wow! Love this! Looks like the Salon in a bottle works well in the middle. I'm going to try that next time. The last Sally Hanson I used was too thin (my fault because I thinned it too much).
@MSLP8 жыл бұрын
I hate when that happens - if you need to get it thicker to apply, I'd suggest leaving it with the cap on but quite loose for a day or two, then check if it's back to a usable consistency

@MSLP8 жыл бұрын
make sure there are no fans or drafts blowing on your cup and work very fast - also keep in mind even within the same brand different colors will dry at different speeds, it can take a lot of trial & error to find the colors that work best

A great way to keep latex from sticking to itself is to use an old nail polish, and paint it on the latex between your fingers. The latex stops the polish from staining your skin, and prevents fingers from sticking to each other :D
@MSLP8 жыл бұрын
I never would have thought of that, and less chance of contaminating the water than using powder!
@Sunscorched8 жыл бұрын
Also, if you don't have a nail polish you want to waste, band-aids are a fantastic substitute :)

Thanks for sharing the Heavenly Blue Marble designs, I really like the one that you did on your nails, they are my favorite. One question - How long should one wait before finishing off with the op coat? I have done my own water marbling and sometimes it takes a while for the water marble to dry... Thanks again and I look forward to your reply
@MSLP8 жыл бұрын
I usually top coat right after I finish cleaning up, so not long - it's not fully dry at that point, so the trick is to just use a light touch with the top coat and try not to touch the design with the brush, just use it to guide the polish if that makes sense

My Simple Little Pleasures I can only get a day of wear out of mine, my natural nails are too oily and it pops right off. I use it for special occasion manicures. How Cristine gets a week out of hers I'll never know! LOL

On some of your water marbles, you have the same design on every finger. You are the water marble pro in my eyes! Any tips for getting the same design on every finger?
@MSLP8 жыл бұрын
well, of course make sure it's as close to the same as possible in the cup, and only dip one nail at a time in most cases; aiming at the exact right place in the design just takes practice
@akhilacheviryil29158 жыл бұрын
Ok thank you. It was a great help.

I am thinking of starting my own KZbin channel for nail art, I mean hey, I do my nails once a week, why not right? My question is, as long as I give credit to a design I saw on KZbin that's appropriate right? I get so much inspiration from you and other youtubers!
@MSLP8 жыл бұрын
yes that should be fine - I know I'm always flattered when I can inspire someone to try one of my designs and I think most other nail artists feel the same =)
@maeganmitchell48493 жыл бұрын
How do you get the color to continue to expand as you set each drop? I get like three drops of color in the water and it doesn’t want to spread like the first drop or two. I can only get about four or five drops before I run out of room in the bulleye
@MSLP3 жыл бұрын
Size of the cup and type/temp of water can make a difference but mostly it all comes down to the polish. If it starts to dry it will stop spreading, or some colors may not work with others even if you've marbled with them separately before.
