I missed the first time, but upon rewatching the episode you can tell the guy that Juichi killed actually has this weird reaction to Juichi from the very start they met each others. at 11:56 the guy prolly wanted to aplogize and Juichi just leaves immediately feeling conflicted bcs he knew he was the guy that got her wife killed. This show are very good at dropping very subtle hints throughout the episodes. Aaaand i totally forgot about 24:50, that was insane !

The man eater is the mother. It has the same red ornament on its leg as is hanging in juuichi's car. In a flashback it shows how both women and juuichi have one.

I also think that the spider Hiruko is Nanaki since she and Iwa were both together and have the same hair color as the couple with the ornaments. Also she has the same hair color as Jugo.

This episode was my favorite the emotions were all over the place plus with the animation took it to the next level, loved the reaction from you guys as always.

To begin with, if anyone noticed how this episode had a noticeably different visual style and animation this episode, that was likely due to episode 10’s episode director and story-boarder being Kai Ikarashi, an animator who is a mainstay of Studio Trigger and has worked on many of their series and films. Now in regards to the plot, this was another one of those episodes that actually reveals quite a bit of information without doing so directly. Jūichi’s son Jūgo (who Maru identifies as a Man-Eater/Hiruko-person, likely similar to the Hotel King Totori and Hoshio/Mimihime) having the same freezing powers as the spider-like Man-Eater this episode is meant to imply that one of Jūgo’s mothers (i.e. whoever was his biological mother) transformed into the spider-like Man-Eater after being killed and hung-up by the Walled Town inhabitants. This revelation is further confirmed with the addition of an anime only detail, specifically the bracelet/rear-view mirror pendant (with the red tokusatsu character) that Jūichi was given by Jūgo’s mothers (who also each owned a identical bracelet); said bracelet can be seen attached to one of the legs of the spider-like Man-Eater in episode 10. For those interested in reading along with the manga, Episode 10 adapted about half of chapter 27 (13/26 pages), and all of chapters 28 and 29. This is equivalent to about 2½ chapters worth of manga. The remaining parts of chapter 26 (6/24 pages) and the other half of chapter 27 were parts of the manga focusing on Takahara Academy and Aoshima (the new vice-director lady character), I don’t know if those parts have been cut from the anime entirely, or if they are being rearranged and we might see them adapted in next week’s episode 11 instead. An added bit of bonus trivia, chapter 29 of the manga also identified the name of Jūgo’s biological mother (i.e. the one who became the spider-like Man-Eater). This was conveyed through the cover page of chapter 29, where the named is spelled out in katakana though the art of said chapter’s cover. The name in katakana is spelled out as “ナナキ”. In regards to the plot at Takahara Academy for episode 10, the new Class 5 students are the 15 five-year olds that The Director was discussing and referring to in the previous episode. Also in case it wasn’t clear, Tokio’s pregnancy has developed at a normal pace, so about 5-8 months or so have passed since Tokio was taken away in episode 9. And if anyone is interested in starting the manga after this season is finished (it is currently planned to adapt the majority or all of tankōbon Volume 6 of the manga, likely somewhere in the range of chapters 36-37), I personally would still recommend starting the manga from the beginning regardless, as in addition to the standard cutting of extra dialogue and scenes from the anime for run-time and cinematic pacing, the chapter titles and cover pages of the manga also play a role in experiencing the foreshadowing of the story that the anime can’t quite replicate (due to the inherent difference in mediums). The mangaka of Heavenly Delusion, Masakazu Ishiguro (who is active on Twitter), their most well known previous work is “And Yet the Town Moves” (also known as Soremachi), which was serialized from 2005-2016. They have also done a number of other single volume manga and short stories collections. Ishiguro's has also stated that the major influences for the Heavenly Delusion series, include the works Akira, Armored Trooper Votoms, and an old Japanese science-fiction novel titled "Dogra Magra" that was written Kyūsaku Yumeno (who appears as a character in Bungo Stray Dogs) and published in 1935.

I am an anime only but i have looked at a couple of chapters that have been adapted so I might be wromg. Didn't they find out about tokio's pregnancy a few month in? If I'm not mistaken, she was already 3-4 month pregnant when the vice director noticed it and ran some the test. Therefore, tokio would have been taken away only for around 5 months, not 8 months as you said

@@luceafarul5740 We don’t know exactly how many month’s pregnant Tokio was she got taken away, I just gave 8 months as like a maximum upper limit of how long it could/would have been.

​@@TheoVorster If you look at the dates on the security cams and date of the boy's death (I don't know if it's an anime addition), you can approximately know. It was about 3 months from the baby scene with froppy till the vomit scene, and by the time of the pool scene she already had a noticeable baby bump.

As you said, Juuichi is 11! Jugo is 15! I think every character's name has a meaning. My friend said that there was a scene where Maru with a wig and Kiruko overlapped with Nanaki and Iwa and Juuichi looked at them with a thoughtful expression! I've seen the manga and I'm amazed at how detailed this work is!

Yea what i found very interesting is how Maru was able to picture the man eater being above very much like how Kona use it to find Asura. Possibly Maru has both tokio and kona's abilities?

I'm using a translator, sorry. This episode was a hit! The background drawings are very delicately drawn, but they dared to destroy the characters, and there were several patterns in the drawing, which was interesting! It was also impressive that there were many gags at the beginning and the emotion was dropped at the end. And there are a lot of fine details, such as the treatment of the men's Kiruko is slightly different from that of Maru, and there are men who can't hear their mouths.Although it was an episode with different tastes, Igarashi (Conte production director) and Takeuchi (animation director) are a gorgeous tag team! An episode where the sense shines! The ice drawings and the production of the battle scenes are really amazing, and I sympathize with Carson☺️The part where Juuichi overtakes the past Juuichi in the last car was anime original, but it was pretty good! I'm surprised at how fast the pacing is, but you did the right thing by keeping this episode in one episode! Perfect until see you byebey! Big Brain Carson, Lindsay! I'm sure you and I will be looking for information from the previous episodes many times 🤭 It's really sad that it's only 3 episodes left 😭 I was really looking forward to this anime! In 2024, the same production IG has decided to make an animation of "Kaiju No. 8", so I'm looking forward to that too!😮

29:08 I think it was implied last episode that Kona can manifest anything he wants just with his mind, because last episode when Asura ask him to visualize anything he wants, he visualize a "sword of light" accidently and a moment after, a kid's leg was hurt by seemingly nothing, but pierced nonetheless. So Kona's power might be manifestation of everything he is visualising, the same power that Asura seems to have.

The animation just went crazy just as much as everything happened in this episode. The art is very off (i heard its Cyberpunk director in this ep) but it is very stylist. The tone shift was over the place, from comedic moments to intense action scenes, from heartwarming conclusion to a brutal plot twist from nowhere. I still prefer we get back to the old animation but this ep is really something else.

One potential consideration is whether the stuff going on at the facility is even related to the apocalyptic event. It could be that the apocalypse was entirely independent - the individual maneaters are dangerous but considering the limited number (since only the kids at the facility seem to become them) and seeming lack of much concern about them, they could just be a completely independent issue to whatever destroyed the world. My guess is that the facility was trying to ensure the survival of humanity by giving them super powers and they knew or were predicting that the apocalypse would happen.

I finally figured it out. the kids that are inside the nice building with the scientist and old lady is 15 years in the past. he is looking for his own parents, the pregnant kid is his mother...that's why he looks like both of them and have abilities. this is why that kid had ice powers because his mother is from that building too....

I REALLY disliked the pacing this episode, I felt like I barely had time to breathe and process what I was seeing before something else happened, it was all way too fast and the art differences were super jarring too. The director for this episode seems super talented, there were a lot of stunning shots, but I feel like he didn't fit what I expect of this show.
