Jungkook was just 18 years old when he participated in the masked singer and he said in the interview that he wanted to participate to show people that bts has beautiful vocals not just beautiful rap (because back then bts was known as a rap /hiphop group) and he wanted everyone to know that bts can sing and he did it so perfectly and beautifuly 💜 This is why he is the main vocalist and this is why he is my ultimate bias 💜

Jungkook was only 18 here lol so he was a baby practically and bts wasn’t known for their vocals at this point in time… basically they got a lot of flack for the vocals and people saying they could only do rap. So jungkook went on this show to be able show that bts absolutely have good vocalists… and he is just one of them. I love Big Bang and this is their song but I highly prefer this to the original…. Jungkook does this in such a beautiful way and the emotional build is absolutely flawless!!! Chills from beginning to end! Thank you for doing this one…. So many army don’t even know about it and it’s one of my favorite covers he does…. This one and lost stars …. They def had no clue it was jk and he earned some vocal credit for bts on this show for sure with all the techniques he mixes in

This performance is my starting point. I watched the show, heard this heavenly voice, fell in love with him even when I had not seen his face. I remember crying over the song even tough I had no idea what it was about... I searched about for Jungkook of BTS, and my journey started there and then. I have never recovered hahahaha... So don't blame me for having a special place in my heart for him. I love all 7 of them but this baby is different. Love from a 45 y.o. mom of two from across the globe. Borahae!

That song and that performance was pretty much IT for me. That day I heard him in Masked Singer changed everything for me in terms of looking at him as a singer and artist. Jungkook is sensational and his rendition of the song is incredible. His voice and emotive projection has almost tactile effect on me, it envelops me in a velvety cocoon of splendour like no other voice can. BigBang is a great group but this cover by JK blew the original out of water. Keep in mind he was super young when he sang it ( 17?)

@@TjolleBanan Hi there🌸 I feel almost guilty, at times, that I feel so strongly about his voice and feel compulsion to write something about him everywhere 🙈. But the thing is, when JK as a topic, comes to a discussion table, my words of adoration never dry out, there is literally so much to say about him. Something new, something surprising I just noticed or realised. The guy is simply wondrous. 😌 My second favourite cover of his is “ Lost stars” by Maroon 5. The song is about a middle aged man’s life crises and our “ talented spring chicken” ( in terms of his age) absolutely nails it giving it once again his own twist that turned the song into his own 👏.

I just love what jungkook did with it bc jk sings with his soul.. he is so passionate about singing but he’s SO modest and seems to always think too little of himself. I find myself wanting to praise him everywhere bc I think as appreciated as he is… I think he’s under appreciated as a vocalist and as a dancer… people unless we’ll versed in singing and music may take time to really take in everything he does with his voice . When they watch or hear them in small doses… he can be one of the harder voices and singing styles to pick up on to new viewers bc he doesn’t sound the same from song to song… depending on the style of song… may change how he sings it so not just tone by using various vocal colors but how he mixes in textures that transform his voice so much that depending on the kind of song… he may sound completely different. He also has kind of a metallic sound naturally to his voice sometimes which make people think it’s autotune.. until they hear him sound like that with no mic lol it’s just his voice.. but he sings all the time and he’s such a lover of music that he’s searching for new artists to live to try to learn from them… and each song he likes a lot… makes him want to figure out how to do it lol I’m so glad I’m not the only one who sees how incredibly special he is vocally . Also in my comment I also mentioned jungkooks “lost stars” cover… ugh it’s absolutely breathtaking… all the covers he does I end up preferring them usually lol it’s a problem! Thank you for supporting jk and not being afraid to show him some love. Each member is extraordinary and I’m glad that there’s people supporting all 7 of them . Jk is my ultimate bias… and the other 6 wreck me constantly… it’s a wonderful problem to have lol 😂

There is so much to say and I totally agree that he is way underappreciated. I dare to say his talent and precise, always top notch delivery is being taken for granted by quite a big bunch of people who listen to BTS. Just today I heard yet another reactor admitting to intentionally not commenting on Jungkook because " we all know he is that great and always delivers, there is nothing new because he never disappoints so I comment on him least"... “Heavenly” is the perfect word to describe this performance! JK sounds like an angel! He has the most beautiful and sweet voice that I have ever heard in my life! 🥰💜 Did you know that this was a pivotal performance for BTS? JK said on the stage that he went on the show to prove that BTS had strong vocalists. At that time, the public thought of BTS as mostly a dancing and rapping group and it is because of this performance from our “Main Vocalist”, Jungkook, who represented the group so well at such a young age, that the public started to recognize BTS for their amazing vocal talents as well. JK completely shocked everyone, including the judges, with his extraordinary talent! It was such an important moment and I don’t think a lot of Armys know the full story. Jungkook was only 17-18? I believe at that time. He wanted to prove to people that BTS indeed are great vocalists as well, they were mostly known for their rap. He himself talked to their company to participate. He truly is a gem. The determination, passion and loyalty for his group shows clearly. Jungkook's singing was and is still phenomenal. When I first heard him singing this song I knew that yes, Jungkook is an amazing singer. I dunno what it is but to me, Jungkook sounds like a choir in one human. He has a beautiful voice that sounds angelic, as one hears in church choirs. I hope you react to any Jungkook compilation video by IdaS. My personal favourites are Jungkook king of acapella, Jungkook the karaoke master and Jungkook's highnotes and falsettos :) Also Jungkook's solo song My Time from their MOTS:7 album.

I love the live version of IF YOU from BIGBANG as well from their Tour Report from Bangkok perfromance as well!! But JK's version is as you said equally amazing, but delivery a bit different less emotion &'passion, but lighter more heavenly as you said, & ethereal! Just so so beautiful!! This has the audio of the full performance from that tv broadcast of the Masked Singer,from MBC which is a Korean tv network known for being more strict especially concerning certain broadcast shows! Just want to make sure you're safe & not get any strikes!
