One of my biggest pet peeves is when people expect you to be perfect at a new job. It takes TIME to get that quality over quantity. You aren’t going to jump into a job and know exactly what to do and be great at every singe aspect. It happens all too often, so it’s so refreshing to see you to make the announcement that he’s still learning.
@williameldridge93823 жыл бұрын
To a point, some people learn way faster than others (not a reflection on anyone in particular). I used to do this EXACT same work using the exact same equipment and in less than 3 months I was leading jobs and teaching classes on proper procedure. It takes thoroughness and dedication WAY More than anything (again, not commenting on anybody).

When I graduated highschool I worked with a guy installing flooring. He and his father with his other 2 sons were the leads guys with over about 15+ years of experience. One of the guys brother was a straight asshole. He expected everybody to know how to install, make cuts and know exactly what to do when we start a job. I didn't wimp out but it was frustrated because I'm only 17 this is my first ever job I ever had and i had NO experience. This guy kept telling me" how do you not know how to do this and that" I'm just a 17 year old whose willing to put in the effort to learn just don't bash on my mistakes. I was the last person to leave their crew after 15+ other young workers quit on them for the way they were being treated by the same guy and his other brother and father. when I went to the bosses house to quit in front of his face that's when he wanted to raise my pay to have me stay with him and he offered to fire his own brother for me because "it wasn't the first something like that has happened" and I denied his offer and returned all the badges I had to do commercial work and left. I'm 22 now and I'm a lot happier that I left that toxic work environment lol

The trucks I was on only held like 30gal of dirty water and then it would be pumped through a drain hose placed in the customer’s toilet. I had been training a dude for three days and on day 3, while standing on pristine white “wool to wool” carpeting, he just holds the end of the drain hose. Doesn’t remember what it is or where it goes, I’m prepping a room on the other side of the house. Yes it went off. Yes I had to haul ass through the home to try to salvage the situation. No we didn’t get paid for the cleaning that day.

Anything to save money unfortunately. The complex I live in used to use a "dry cleaning" carpet person who used sawdust to fluff and clean it. It was awful vacuuming because you had it in the vacuum filling it up and once it was gone you could see the stains, and since it wasn't hot it didn't sanitize or kill the fleas in it from the pervious tennet. I'm glad they finally made the switch to a steam cleaner.
