@@thassarian136 Yeah there really is nothing like it. It's pretty different from their normal sound. They went on to produce 1 or 2 more records after this. They broke up and now J Roddy Walston is the frontman of a new band called Palm Palm.

Easily the coolest stuff out there. So many cool influences in this song. The change at 2:38 is brilliant/inspired. And the crazy lyrics! Lol!! "...I muscle holler and moan" and the last line before the chorus "I know that old catholic tone (Notice his pronunciation). I know that old catholic tone. The heavy bells......" Cool music. They got an ease about them too. A+ While some music will stay anchored to its time? This will be timelessly cool.

This song was my best friend in college's anthem. I Wanna Get Better by Bleachers was mine. Among a whole host of other songs when we were stuck doing yard work on medians of major highways of St Louis in the morning for the University as our summer jobs. Jesus Christ. We used to throw the most fun fucking parties. And not in any weird way. We had the best drinking games that brought the party ALL in. Everybody scrunched in around the table. Even fellaz, whether for wild weight cutting reasons, or DD'ing, could join the game, and pick one of us two hosts as their designated drinkers. I had many a night where I OWNED the slapcup table, but still drank for 4 or 5 people who were losing (but were driving) so they could DD but still have fun. it almost makes the dynamic MORE fun when you can fuck with your Designated Drinker depending on how the night's going. Our parties never got us laid (Well, besides my buddy and his long term GF at the time obviously), but, Goddammit, we had so much fun. I'm basically a boomer. I miss 2012-2016.
