This is a cautionary tale of the Brothers of the Long Watch - The “Redemption of St. Sulech” is an ancient heavy bolter relic that represents a symbol of honour, but also a disregard for orders. Brother Frosius, a Devastator from the Imperial Fists Chapter, was deployed in the highest tower of the Imperial shrine with his favoured heavy bolter, while the others remained below. Thanks to the devastating bursts of accurate fire from the tower, the Speed Freaks were defeated, but not without the loss of the rest of the Kill-team. Upon his return to Erioch, Brother Frosius was severely censured for the decision to stay and fight. FOR THE EMPEROR!!

i dare to say nay. compared to the melta it surely doesn't eradicate whole armies in one single shot, but the potential damage in the magazine exceeds the melta by far, because for a melta to unleash its full potential you'd have to have a map bursting with enemies. with the heavy bolter you can dose your violence down to single bullets for minoris, or go full berserk and release a metal storm on a neurothrope. melta is more situational dependent, so of course you will deal superiorly with any emeny wave in the blink of an eye, but won't get as much damage out in the end, because you'll inevitably blow lots of its energy into the atmosphere.
