I'm here through HeavyD aswell. I'm liking these kinds of vids. Its an "indepth" clip to the famous Blackhawke. I do wonder sometimes... what if, an engineer from the 50's would see this engine.....What if Henry Ford did? What if a train engineer from the 19 hundreds did.... Our knowledge has grown so fast so quick.... makes you think about 50 years from now.

I’m here from Heavy D. I started my my career in the 1970s with Bendix Avionics and “nearly” got my pilot’s license thanks to their flying club. Had opportunities to go up in a lot of different aircraft as payload so, yeah, I’m an aviation enthusiast. Having spent time in many hangars over the years, Heavy D’s recommendation to follow along as the Blackhawk goes from a training helicopter to a fully operational and useful tool is right in my wheelhouse. I’m looking forward to your channel and it’s growth.

Came over here from Heavy D Sparks channel, I love aviation and helicopters. I’m not a pilot, but I love watching how these very complicated machines are taken care of. I plan on stopping by more often to see what else your channel begins to offer. Wishing you all success and looking forward to see your channel grow.

I manufacture those Stg 1/2 blades and vanes at GE for the hot section of that engine. Pretty neat to think I probably touched those specific ones before they went into that engine

Thank God we don't have to rely on the S39 Switch Box for troubleshooting any more! Engine Common Ground Checks BABY! The Gas Generator is limited to 10,000 hours though. RARELY if ever do they make it that long.

Awesome video and great explanation of the T-700 basics and overhaul process. I do have to say that the H-60 gearbox does not have a 30 loss of lube capability. That is an Army requirement but it has not been demonstrated on the Black Hawk. Do not rely on that. If you get a low oil pressure light, land as soon as possible.

Hey guys! Great video, like a lot of others I came over from Heavy D's channel to see how the Blackhawk was going. After seeing the engine and getting the descriptions I have a question: if the engine and the shaft to the transmission is cranking out a couple thousand RPM and gear reduction lowers that to around 300 or less, why does the engine need to spin that fast? Would it be possible to have an engine running at maybe 1000 rpm so you could put less wear and tear on the parts and maybe save fuel? Sorry if this is a noob question I was just wondering.

I came here because of HEAVYDSPARK, there's always lackness of information when it comes from making an explanation for gas turbine engine. Like metallurgy of each type of metal they use on every important component of the engine, the type of fuel spray they use,the type of pump they use, type of combustor, expalining each combustor holes, etc. A lot of channel about an actual gas turbine engine has less info.for everyone to learn more.

Fascinating. I have watched a lot of AgentJayZ videos and learned a lot about jet engines and how the are built and function. I have high hopes for this channel. I know it's early days, but you need to find a way to reduce background noise with a different mike system. Dave Sparks sent me over.

Great video! If you want to keep doing this pick up a DJI Osmo 5 phone gimbal and the DJI remote mic setup. These remote Mic’s will really help with the background noise. Way better than anything else I’ve tried. Keep Up the good work it will definitely pay off maybe not immediately but it will pay off

258 RPM is the head speed at 100%. The GG Rotors and compressor turn a 44,250 RPM for a reference.
