I'm curious as to why you don't have the tarp cover the entrance to your tent? Wouldn't it make it easier to go from one to the other in a serious downpour?

Jennifer that's crazy. I was just getting ready to type that exact same question. I'm sure Luke has a great reason for doing it that way but I can't figure out what it is unless he's test the tent for waterproofness.

johnstevenson is correct: Luke is doing a waterproof test. In one earlier video he had part of the tent under a tarp and he realized later that it invalidated that test night.

This channel is called The Quiet Place Channel this why he doesn’t speak and it’s a review channel. Review being the main word here. If he puts a tarp over any part of the tent, he would not be able to give it an honest review as far as, water leaks, humidity inside the tent and so on. And he tarp he is using is also under review. This channel he does not speak. On his first channel he speaks while camping. Hope this helps with your question.

Why do you always put your tent away from your tarp? Surely it would be better having part of your tent under the tarp so you transition from one to the other without having to get wet or tramp mud to and fro!🤷🏻👍

I love the continuity. He mentioned using that pad several times before giving a review - and here it is. I love seeing each piece of Luke's amazing kit. Also his amazing meals.
