In this video, The Sumter Wrecker Crew responded to a rolled over Sky Lift that became disconnected while turning. We used several differant wreckers to recover the counter weight, trailer and sky lift.The driver was not injuried. There should be a cap on each drive wheel that has 2 bolts holding it on if you remove those bolts and turn the cap over and put the bolts back in it will put the drive motors in free wheel so all 4 wheels will turn Nice job on the recovery

He is correct--turning the axl;e cover around with the dimple in the middle actually pushes the axle shaft in farthjer-releasing the gear inside.

Great team work.. Having done heavy hauling rescue for a few years, Your leadership skills were on point.. I will say, the best (and cheapest) investment for my crew were High Quality 2-way radios “with in-ear headsets” You can make those (sometimes needed) split second decisions and the entire crew is aware of what’s going on. Good Motorola radios were always my choice… You can even rent repeater space real cheap nowadays, so the radios will work over your entire city, county and beyond. Stay safe out there..

You can take the 2 bolts in the small caps in the center of the hubs out, flip the caps over and bolt them back on to freewheel the hubs so the machine will roll.

A nice smooth,controlled upright on the trailer and the skylift. Those lifts sure are a chunk of weight to handle, we have had to deal with them before as well. Nice job on the entire recovery!
