You never want to travel with guns using TSA locks. It is against TSA regs.

To our surprise TSA changed their regulations to include TSA certified locks. Check it out on their website. 🙂

TSA approved locks are more than ok for use. Had no problem flying from California to Alaska and back. Never got held or asked any questions it was as easy as checking a bag of luggage. Airline used was Alaska airlines.

Wish you showed how to reset the code. The 3 steps on the package are too vague. Tried numerous ways and can’t get it to reset.

Hello Talk about that black cable that looks like rubber. Can it be cut and what material is it ?
@CedarMillFineFirearms Жыл бұрын
It can be cut, but why would you? It keeps the shank tethered to the lock.

How do these survive the weather? I use a gun case for my off-road tools on the roof so they would be in the sun, rain, & mud.
@CedarMillFineFirearms Жыл бұрын
That is a good question! They haven't been on the market long enough for us to have feedback on adverse weather conditions. Since they have a silicone shell they should be decently protected against moisture and dirt.

Where are the links? And are the master locks TSA approved?

Wouldn’t someone just cut a single hole in the plastic case rather than use bolt cutters on two separate locks?
@CedarMillFineFirearms2 жыл бұрын
Depends what tools you have. A bolt cutter is widley availble, does not need power, and can easily cut a traditional lock. A skinny wheel the power tool you would need to cut open the case, or this single shank lock. It is large, needs 110v power, and is is very loud. In otherwords it is much more dificult to cut the case and by using a power tool you are alerting everyone in the building of your actions.

This is actually illegal because per regulations if you transport any kind of firearm only the owner of the firearm should have access to it.

We are unsure of the the regulations in your state/country but always research your local laws before purchasing.

I thought so as well, but apparently TSA went from forbidding these to allowing them. I just read the regs. I am shocked. I would never do it personally. I would never recommend doing it.
@CedarMillFineFirearms11 ай бұрын
@@thomabb Thank you for reaserching this before commenting. There are pro's and con's to both. Your opinion is a valid concern, but it is worth considering that you may miss your flight if TSA needs to search your bag but they need to find you to get the key. But as you mention, do you trust TSA to search your bag without you?
@thomabb11 ай бұрын
@@CedarMillFineFirearms The TSA regs still require the owner to be present in order to inspect a firearm case. They can inspect the suitcase, but they cannot by law open the gun case without you present. They are supposed to inspect the gun case, if they wish to do so, when you check the bag.

Tsa Locks cant secure gun cases, must be a lock only the owner has the key for.

You may use any brand or type of lock to secure your firearm case, including TSA-recognized locks. Please research your facts before you spread misinformation: www.tsa.gov/travel/transporting-firearms-and-ammunition

@CedarMillFineFirearms tsa locks are not secure locks. Others have keys and can open them without the owner present.

@@otherbob23True, that is likely why the make it optional. But do you want to miss your flight because it was not locked correctly?
