Would be better after gathering all the trees that was cut for lumber, if the loggers or someone else would come in and cut all the firewood out and chip up the rest of the tops for pulp or wood pellets for wood heaters. This would make use of most all of the tree and make the forest better for the rest of the undergrowth.

It would definitely make more use of the tree but the stuff left behind decomposes over time and provides nutrients back into the ground

Thanks for the video. I'd rather not watch the operator felling the timber. I fear he has possible injuries facing him.....BUT maybe and hopefully not!
