I do a lot of repairs in florida and I swear every knockdown job I get has blobs this big. So damn hard to match! This is the best method Ive seen so far

I use the Graco Fast Finish hopper set up. It will match that big knockdown texture. Best hopper you’ll ever use! It pressurizes the inside of the hopper. That allows you to spray that big knockdown texture

The brush technique is great a guy can flick it up there like stucco also to get large globs of mud on the ceiling. Great tip with the garage threshold as a wiper.

You guys were gone for a minute. Glad to see you back. Always something to learn in your videos. The mud you used in a hopper, was that allpurp or 45 perhaps? Thanks in advance Scott. 👍

@@splanzza actually mixed some 45 with a little bit of mud helps it set up faster to float with, but it was all purpose USG +3 for texture

Bro that was a great tip. I’ve been struggling trying to match that huge knockdown here in San Antonio. How would you go about doing for example a 10’ X 10’ ceiling trying to match that texture? Would you just do exactly what you did in this video. Also could you wipe that down with the plastic knockdown knives from Ames or just stick with the rubber piece you have? Also where can I get that brush you used for the texture? Sorry for all the questions
@timmyt313 ай бұрын
So I watched more of your vids and I see you made a custom “5 brush” with rubber bands. Where can I get the 5 brush so I can make one? I googled 5 brush and nothing that looks like what you have came up.

Was going to ask your opinion, what’s the best Usg bucket mud to make a stomp texture with? Liking the content, I really like seeing your videos working with pan an knife floating seams hope to see some in the near future. Would appreciate the tip on stomp texture!
@scottssheetrockservices3 ай бұрын
I don’t use regular USG mud which I think might be the only bucket you can get, but I do use USG +3 boxed mud works well for everything. I hope this helps.

@@scottssheetrockservices yes sorry may have confused you. I was just meaning out of the types of mud, like the all purpose green lid, ultra light weight, and plus 3. So the PLUS 3 would be best option for a stomp ceiling texture? Thanks for the input
