That's a rapala knot. My only worry with it is that if you make the loop too big , the actual knot will be very close to the end of the bib , so the bib will not be so protective. Lures with long bibs are pretty good for stopping bite - off's.... but I'd say keep the loop pretty small to protect the leader. I usually put a short single strand wire haywire twisted onto the lure, then a small , good quality bb swivel, then attach the 40lb mainline mono with a trilene knot. The problem with that is having to replace the wire after landing a big fish. I HATE screwing around with haywire twists at any time , especially on a boat at dusk with my 61 year old eyeballs !

I think it doesn't matter where you put your firsttag end through the hole. What matters is after you erap the line around you need to bring tag through the same side.
