Thank you. It's saved my shoulder and makes heavy lifting possible. Sitting by the fire on a cold night with my lapdog is a good thing. Cheers

Well done Wane😌👏I need a pulley system because I have Cereus cacti getting rather huge in pots and they must be 20kg now. That's extremely cold weather for Tasmania there Wane. It does go down to -8℃ here in Saitama Japan. My cacti handle it fine because Winters are dry yet bright and sunny, even the native Vanda falcatas and dendrobium moniliforme can do fine when hanging or mounted to trees. The trees give off a certain amount of heat that disperses frost. Wowzers, it's been hot this month with temperatures 35℃ and humidity hovering around 80%. I've been having to hose down the orchids in there shady house daily, and they dry out by the next day. Thanks for the helpful tips Wand and enjoy your night

@@newmanmansell760 ... -8° and now 35° ... that's a big WOW from me ! ...and I thought I had difficulties with big plants ? Large cacti would be even more of a challenge ! Do you wrap them in order to handle them? A friend uses a double layer of heavy leather outer glove and a second layer inside.(thick cotton I think) He also wraps them in cardboard as fabric gets snagged on the spines. He hasn't had to borrow my block and tackle ... yet ! 🤪 Enjoy your summer. (it's been years since I was in Japan) Cheers 😎👍

I use newspaper or those cheap supermarket sponges, and othertimes I'm just reaching for whatever I have that can help me with repotting😅👍Some species of cacti do super well here. Enjoy your evening Wane

it's so strange to watch videos downloaded a couple of hours ago and see you in warm clothes, hat and saying: "It's bloody cold" when I'm sitting in my home with every window open, so it's not so hot ))) so interesting to realise the fact that somewhere is actually winter, not summer

@@RomanKuzmic ...lol... it most definitely is winter here in Tasmania. It's now 8:40 and still 1°C in the greenhouse and I'm going fishing ! I need my head examined ! 🤪 Cheers

If you put a cleats or jamb cleats on those posts you could tie it off so you work with both hands.
@waynesweirdworld57885 ай бұрын
Yes, I've thought of that, but it was never intended as a permanent installation in the greenhouse. I think my sailing days are over, but the new mini block and tackle is for my Honda CT110 for when I go bush along difficult forest tracks for fishing. Easy to lift it up n over impossible obstacles by simply looking for a strong overhead branch to tie it to. I'll be get some small stainless steel shackles that will fit the Becket and loop ends for better rigging with a heavier heave rope. I'll try and keep the rig small so that it doesn't get in the way of the camping and fishing gear + Gus that has to fit on the bike. Cheers ... ps... maybe I need a Gopro for my other Weird adventures? 🤪

p.s. in some older videos I saw you have a huuuuge Den. speciosa (if I'm correct). Do you still have it?

@@RomanKuzmic ... yes, all of those are in the shadehouse and are developing flower spikes. It'll be a good year for them !
