this video is gonna be all over the place but I know lots of my followers are also metalheads and fans of Alexi as well, so I wanted to do a Children of Bodom inspired makeup look while reminiscing/having a therapy session lol. If you guys have stories or memories you wanna share in the comments i'd love to read them ❤️

I was 15years old when I ditched school as well to see bodom live. My dad went with me to the concert LOL (he liked it). I'm so glad I went to this concert cause it was the last time they came to my country (I also had the biggest crush on alexi). I had a big ass poster of him in my wall for a decade. Damn so many memories

I'm a big fan of Children of bodom too! My heart broke when I heard the news. My first concert at 13 years old was Children of bodoms too! I'm thankful I had the opportunity to go to their concerts multiple times cause I'm from Finland. Always had the best feeling at their concerts. I definitely was crushing on Alexi too when I was younger haha. I love that you made this video, thanks for sharing your thoughts and memories ❣️ RIP Alexi Laiho 🖤

I'm not a hardcore metalheads but my friend Maggie would always have free promo tickets to metal showers at the house of blues downtown Disney and so that was my first show. I dont remember who played but it was just dope, people were rubbing and bumping into each other. Yelling and singing and grabbing each other and singing in each others face. It was an experience that I can always put my finger on and just feel myself go back to high school and being young and free. Its everything you said exactly lol, good times !!!

I don't feel ready to talk or hear about Alexi or Children of Bodom very much yet, I'm sorry. I'm saving every tribute video (including yours) I see for whenever I'm ready. I'll just say I'm devastated and that I got to meet him twice and to see COB live 4 times. It has been my fav band since I was about 14 (I'm 23 now). I'm going to get his signature tattooed as well as the sentence "We stand and we won't fall" with his handwriting (I asked him to write it for me) and the Follow the Reaper cover. Thanks for this tribute, Alice 🖤. Alexi will live forever.

My first concert was System of a down when I was 15, I went with my brother and OMG now I'm 20 and it's still one of my favorite concerts ever. I remember my mom being so nervous and angry because I was going to a metal concert, and as you said I've never been so happy of seeing so many metal heads in black concert t-shirts, I felt so exited and nervous but at the same time I knew I needed to go to more concerts like that and since then concerts have been my life. Btw I'm from Mexico and I love your videos ❤️

Man I miss concerts so much! Love this look ♡ the funniest memory I have of a concert, is when I had to go with my sister to see the jonas brothers and I was like dreading being surrounded by a bunch of screaming bitches. I dressed my usual all black and grunge makeup and as soon as I walked into the venue all the girls and their parents just stopped what they're doing and just stared at me. They all had this snobby or scared look and i would either flipped them off or smile to annoy them Haha I felt like Wednesday when she and pugsley were sent to camp.

Ah girl, Alexi's passing also hit me like a brick this week. I saw Bodom's first ever US performance at Milwaukee Metalfest in 2000. I was already a superfan. I also met Alexi (and the rest of COB) during that weekend. I have a pic of Alexi from that meet and greet. Glad I still have it. This inspired look that you did is awesome. I've never done a red eye look but I might now. I even have red glitter that I haven't used yet. It was cool to hear your stories. Alexi was taken from the music world far too soon, but he'll forever live in our hearts. Thanks for this vid, Alice. 🖤

Me and my boyfriend were watching Bill and Ted and got talking about who our favourite guitarists were. Obviously Alexi came up and we watched his cover of Vivaldi, as that always gives me butterfly's. The next day we hear he has passed away. So shocked and saddened. I'm a huge Bodom fan and i'm absolutely devasted. I first heard them when my bro put the song 'Needled 24/7' on my purple sony Mp3 player and I got obsessed with it. Just that one song was enough to make me love them. Alexi was a personal hero of mine and I was lucky enough to meet him briefly at a signing for a photo. The last time I saw him was at Bloodstock Fest (UK) and I noticed how pale and skinny he was. Having CoB seshes every day now. R.I.P Alexi X

An Alice original look : ) Loved this type of video. I also appreciate that you remember us metalheads out here 🖤 I only ever listen to CoB within a broader playlist, but in 2012 when they finally came to my country (one and only time ever), I was crying with happiness in the first row. I queued up from 16:00 in front of the stage, waiting through three other acts, before them, at 22:00. Not letting go of the rail. This was during a Summer Music Festival, so this also all happened during the sun was up and high, and I've been a bat by then, so I was sweating like I was in the depths of hell, under my long robes and hoods, but no other sunburn than my chin and lips :D I also got a picker handed specifically to me, from Henkka : ) Still have it. And yes, literally everyone had a crush on Alexi : D Death is natural, but for me it will forever remain unnatural in the lives of those, who passed before the age of 80ish. Even after. Maybe it has nothing to do with age, maybe it is when someone is done, then it is peaceful, but when someone gets cut off from their to do lists... I can't forgive that.

I think part of the shock is that Alexi was so YOUNG and I thought he was going to continue to lead our generation! Also... URANIUM! NO ONE remembers that show, dang it!! I'm so glad you mentioned it. I swear we're the same age.. My first concert was in 2007 - Type O Negative & Celtic Frost. My little sister and I went. Not only did my dad drive us.. he attended with us. Awkward, but I'm eternally grateful. I was 18 or 19 and had no idea what I was getting into! The moshing, cigarette smoke, alcohol splashing everywhere, and the volume. It was a culture shock. haha but my life was changed.

When I saw Behemoth the first time, it was at the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco. It's old and small. I got upfront and it was amazing. It was my first heavier metal show (I have seen Within Temptation before at the same place. They are symphonic metal) and there were so many people that looked like me and it was so cool! I felt like I belonged. Behemoth was amazing. They are such amazing performers. I've seen them twice now. The last time I saw them was with Slipknot and that was the most fun concert I've ever been to. It was so nuts and fun that my friend and I went to Denny's after and we were falling asleep looking at the menu lol. Good times. The last concert I went to was last march right before shutdown. It was Dragonforce, Unleash the Archers and Visions of Atlantis. So fun.

Watching this because I'm going to see Powerwolf in February. I don't see a lot of concerts and I don't typically dress like a metalhead and while I know that community doesn't really care how you dress (my first concert someone had a pink power ranger costume on, LOL), but I don't like to stick out too much. My first ever concert was Five Iron Frenzy which is a small ska band. A friend of mine was going and asked if I wanted to come and I was like, sure why not. His parents drove us and it was out of state (I lived in rural New England). That was like... the year 2000 maybe?

One of my friends, who I looked up to as a musician, introduced me to Children of Bodom when I was 14 (2005). When my friend passed a few months later, I grabbed onto Bodom so hard. They were my favourite band all through my teens. I was in an emotionally/mentally abusive relationship in my teens with an older guy, and he used to say shit to me about my guitar playing. Alexi inspired me to keep playing. There were a few times that I was in some horrible times in that relationship, and my ex had a poster of Alexi on the wall...and I would just go to a place in my mind that was just Bodom. I got to see them twice in 2008 & 2011. Alexi with Bodom and Sinergy got me through some of the most traumatic times in my life. I'm so gutted. Hate Crew Deathroll was my favourite album! So thank you for this!

I have a few concert stories, but one of my favorites was Motionless in White even though I’m not really as into them anymore. I had never been in a real mosh pit that I had not been bodily removed from by security. So being tossed around like a beach ball was amazingly fun. Ghost was an unforgettable experience. I was right up front by security and got to take the unholy sacrament and drink from the chalice with the Sisters Of Sin. I locked eyes with Papa III and met up with some of my Instagram peeps. It was in 2016, so before they really blew all the way up. It was an intimate show and I am so grateful to be there. Listening to you talk about Alexi reminds me that music that defines us stays with us. My own twin and I love David Bowie and here I am commenting on this video two days before the fifth anniversary of his death, remembering where I was when I heard Thursday’s Child. I remember watching Letterman and SNL the year he was promoting Hours. I remember discovering Diamond Dogs and I can pick up a David Bowie song after three notes. I absolutely understand how you’re feeling. Alexi, like Lemmy and Bowie, will be so very badly missed.

I loved hearing your CoB stories. They were just a band I never missed. I had been listening to them since around 99 when they came out with Hatebreeder. I saw Alexi and immediately fell in love as you do lol. I didn't actually get to see them live until Feb 2012 which also had a signing before it at this hole in the wall music shop. Alexi was so so shy, Roope was gone either tired or hungover and Jaaske didn't seem to care haha. I did end up getting my shirt signed and got some prints so that was awesome!! After that I was determined I'd never miss another show and went on to see them 4 more times. The most memorable was at Mayhem Fest and not because they were kickass but because it was 110° and I almost had to be drug away on one of those mobile ambulance cart things, gosh! I wasn't giving up though dammit I was going to see Bodom hell or high water. It was so screwed up, beer was cheaper than water and you know that only makes you more dehydrated omg!! So I made it through that and was able to watch them Amon Amarth and Rob Zombie. All badass sets. The very last time I saw Alexi was 2017 with Carach Angren and I completely know what you mean when you say you cried, he looked so gaunt and wasn't near as energetic as he always is. I knew something was up. I have a feeling I know but of course Im waiting for the official statement. This whole thing has me so torn up and anytime I try and listen to Downfall, Children of Decadence, Warheart or Follow The Reaper the tear flow is non-stop. Journey well sweet Alexi💔🕯🤘🔥

I played the tenor sax in high school, so I've been to an ungodly amount of classic and jazz concerts. Plus, my brother and sister both did band so I went to all of theirs. After so many similar concerts, they all kind of blend together but there's a few I remember really well. Like the concert at a jazz fest where the front man of the quartet kept referring to everything as 'his'? It wasn't 'our album' but mine and so forth. At that same jazz fest the year prior, a swing dancing mosh pit started on the floor of the stadium. Then there were the regional concerts I fell asleep for, and honestly had the best snooze of my life.

Damn, you took me all the way back when you mentioned Uranium! That, Headbanger's Ball & Slave to the Metal were some of my favorite shows in high school🤘I was low-key slightly obsessed with looking like Mistress Juliya haha

Im 34 as of last month- after wasting my 20's in an toxic abusive r/ship where I hid myself and what i really wanted- I'm only just been finding my true goth/metal nature in the past year. I feel so behind on everyone, i don't know many metal bands but i want to!

I remember Uraaniuuuummm!! I saw COB a few times when they came to Portland in 2004 and after. First time they were with Arch Enemy. So glad I was able to.
