In a prior video of yours I said you were a Craftsman. But now I correct that into saying that you're an Artist of Leadwork. Years ago when I left school at 15 my brother who was a Builder got me into an apprenticeship with a Roofer/Leadman. After a year & although I enjoyed the work & money I left & joined the Army. Now when I watch your videos I have these nostalgic moments. Thank you.

Hello, really wonderfull job. Quite heavy one indeed, how many weight was the long ones ? Like 20 or more kilogrames ? I follow you seen a while now but still have one question about the patination oil. How, where and when do you put it ? It seems that you put it on the uper and under face but like before and after placing it on the roof. Thank you for your answer. Regards from France !!!

Hi thank you ✌🏻 The panel is around 22kg Patination oil will apply to the back wherever possible but on larger jobs it’s usually not possible. It’s not needed at all if the lead isn’t running on to another surface it can discolour. It will form a natural patina within a week or two. I do still use it though for aesthetic purposes. ✌🏻

@leadworksw thank you very much ! I've tried once to oil it before the job doing flashing, but it was really unpractical because I carry my sheets on the shoulders to bring them on the roof... So all of them was falling apart sliding one on the other one 🤣😂 it wasn't so funny at the moment but now I can laugh about it ^^ Thank you a lot for your videos, I learn a lot with it (I never properly learn about leadworking so I'm evolving each time and trying) Congrats to you !!!

Another demonstration of magnificent creative endeavour. It feels worthy of a lead-ing oscar recognition award while the decorative & geometric cappings should be in Tate modern - far more interesting!. Many thanks, R
