During one winter, Imam Abu Yusuf was leading Fajr Salah while Imam Abu Hanifa was praying behind him. Due to the harsh weather, Imam Abu Yusuf shortened the recitation in Salah, reciting only Surah Al-Fil in the first rak'ah and Surah Al-Kawthar in the second.After the Salah, Imam Abu Hanifa asked Imam Abu Yusuf why he had recited such short surahs. Imam Abu Yusuf explained that he did so out of consideration for the congregation due to the extreme cold weather. Imam Abu Hanifa did not object to his decision and acknowledged that it was permissible, indicating flexibility in such situations to ease the hardship on people.
