Basically, you want to check the grading around the house. If that's all good, then you need French drains and sump pumps, and back-up solution for power outage. That's about it.

Looks like you need a more powerful sumb pump ,also get some rubber boots not sandals to walk around in flood water

Why so much water
@deannaloudon12052 жыл бұрын
We had so much rain and the ground just couldn't contain it anymore.. There was a lot of flooding in the area. Happens sometimes here is SW Missouri in the Springtime.

@@deannaloudon1205 oh ok I bought a 100 year old house in February an it as well sits on a rubble stone foundation! My cellar has the same type entity ways as yours. One from out an one from in

The area we live in here SW Missouri is known for people having what they call a "wet basement" .... I had never even heard that term before I lived in Missouri. I grew up in an arid climate with very little excess water! I was told by our neighbor who has lived in the neighborhood over 80 years that my house originally had a coal furnace & that lift up door in the floor used to be outside & it was the coal shoot.... 😃 aren't old houses just fascinating! It's a labor of love indeed...❤️❤️

@@deannaloudon1205 ya I think it’s got vintage appeal so when I saw the amount of rain I panicked an called my son at midnight to go check for flooding. No he did not answer so I guess o well see when I get there. I am a paid tourist so when I’m off I can check it

@@deannaloudon1205 I hear that mine had the coal furnace too but there’s a place down there for collecting 500 gallons of water not counting the space around the well
