I'm 100% with you Mark. Processing your catch as soon out of the water does ensures a cleaner, pure tasting fish. You can definitely keep it in the fridge (in a sealed container) for up to 6 days with no fishy smell. Keep up the great content!

Great tip on how to bleed out and ethically dispatch your fish, Mark. One thing I think that is important to add (for those that don't know) is that it's important to leave the head on your fish after cleaning, just as Mark did! If on a boat/kayak TPWD rules state that if checked while out on the water, a game warden needs to be able to measure the fish with the head on. Bleeding and gutting is ok, just no head removal or filleting. From TPWD-" In most cases, it is unlawful to clean your catch until the fish is finally landed on the mainland (not including piers or jetties) and no longer transported by boat." There are a few exceptions with specific offshore fish and invasive species fish. If someone knows otherwise, please let us know. Thanks!

Marc, you are 100 percent right. Fresh fish and seafood in general, have no smell. If you go into a seafood place that smells, LEAVE!! THAT SMELL MEANS IT'S NOT BEEN PROCESSED CORRECTLY!!! Good advice my friend, and having 70 years fishing and shrimping experience on the very waters you fish, you will know the difference between fresh and old fish, and the taste is much more delicious when seafood is processed correctly! Tight lines my friend!!!

Man, I went down to San Leon and clear lake the other day and I couldn’t find any water that was better than 5” of visibility. This weather is something else.

Check out Texas made lures Corpus Christi they make a shrimp lure that looks real in a 3 inch and he also makes one I want to say a one and a half inch they almost look like those little shrimp that the trout and redfish chase he has a jig it’s a dumbbell Eye and a hook almost like if you’re gonna fly fish with it check out Texas made lure and see what you think I think the shrimp would be excellent for the marsh

Brother Mark, fellow marine... be careful out on water after all the storms dumping trash/trees etc into bays. You may not see all underwater. Just be vigilant out there. Semper Fi We fish some same water areas getting my Yak outfitted better new gear.

Awesome video! Question after using a kayak with a motor such as this one or the auto pilot, would you ever go back to a regular pdl? Also how reliable has the motors been for you? I am asking because I have a old town 132 pdl and considering putting an xi3 on the front or just selling and getting a 120 auto.

The motors are solid, very durable. I prefer the motor kayaks over the pedal drives.

Is your spike a custom item you buy just for that, or an ice pick, or, an old Philips screw driver sharpened to a point?

How you like the ePDL?

It’s great for long distance runs. Great speed for moving against strong winds and currents. The battery never seems to run out.
