What exactly does the turntable on the left do?

OriginalJoseyWales I'm using something called Traktor, so the two pieces of vinyl has time codes on them. You can see from the channel pots on the mixer which record is being played at the time. Once I drop a track on one side, I cue up the next track on the other. Rinse and repeat... For instance, I'm mixing between the two @1:49
