Heavy thunderstorm in Interlaken Switzerland! In summer, thunderstorms are a common weather phenomenon in the Berner Oberland and Jungfrau Region. Sometimes they are very short and powerful like the one in the video that only lasted about 30 minutes. I was in Switzerland many years ago and loved it. Stayed in the Lake Como area and drove thru the mountains to Interlacken. The ride was breath taking. Way up in the mountains the scenery was unreal.

I lived and backpacked Europe for 7 months in 1998, including Interlaken. Right about now I'd be stepping into a Cafe for a coffee and brandy....maybe a pastry on the side! I love the color of the river from the alpine runoff!

We loved Interlaken! That was our jumping off point for Lauterbrunnen. You walked past the pharmacy/apothecary that saved our trip. I woke up in Hilterfingen with a very high fever and, they game me something that brought the fever down in less then an hour. Wish they had medicine like that in America.

I used to live in Montruex over looking the lake up the mountain to Rochers De Nate and would see the storms coming down the lake from the Geneva end. It was an amazing sight to see the lightening working it’s way through the mountains towards Evian.

From beginning to the end of this video, everything was beautiful and I love the rain, the stormy weather and then the sun came out and seeing the views in the background, is breathtaking. I hope to visit there someday. I’m in the central valley in California and we’re still waiting for rain. Southern California got plenty of rain but it seemed the rain decided to go south instead of where I live in the valley! Lol 😉… Thank you for sharing. 😁

I love that you do not get obsess with that it reigning and you just get out and walk and enjoy.... I love when it reigning and I do not mind for to walk like you when it does reign. It smells wonderful fresh from the gras right after the reign is stop and the air is so much cleaner and fresher.
