Rain is a weather event and the most common form of precipitation. Rain consists of water that was stored as steam in clouds and, after condensing, falls in droplets to the surface of the earth.
Raindrops bind dust and aerosols that have risen into the atmosphere. These components determine the pH of the rain.
The forms of rain are differentiated according to origin, duration, intensity, effect and geographical occurrence.
Solid precipitation, e.g. B. hail, sleet or snow, consists of frozen water and condensation nuclei and occurs mixed with rain.
