JETROS 6x6 Trucks I'm interested in I'm thinking about buying one
@RCTNT2 жыл бұрын
Their biggest weakness is a silly pin retention system on the drive shafts. They're otherwise awesome, I really like mine.

For that price i would definitly add a sound generator too. Lve the look of this Truck.
@TheAurabell2 жыл бұрын
thats awesome you pit the fusion in there ! I didn't think there would enough room for it
@RCTNT2 жыл бұрын
The Fusion is a wonderfully compact device, given they've crammed the ESC and BEC in its base. It fit with a little room to spare, even. I think the Fusion may just be my favourite general-use power system for crawlers. Love it.

I still can't get over how good this rig looks. Particularly the metal bits. Those shiny, polished gas tanks really brings the whole rig together, IMO. I would probably be inclined to spray some clear coat on the plastic body to make it look a bit more metal-ly and shiny too. Also, regarding the back axles' mud-guards, I'm pretty sure those are usually made of rubber in the real trailers I see every day. They usually swing from the - relatively thin- rod they're - in this case- welded to. They also have a swing angle limit, with some locks on the rubber, to avoid them getting run over by the tires. Could be a nice project to remove these and try to make them all rubber, even with the ability to swing a bit. Would make it so scale with the swinging taillights (and a dab of Tamiya's X-26 on the indicators to round it all up)! Love seeing the two-speed, the locking axles at work. It seems so much fun... If I had the chance to get my hands on one I'd be torn to get this 6x6 or maybe the single rear axle, and try to make it a Dakar-themed truck...
@RCTNT2 жыл бұрын
Nicely put. I'll think on the mud guards. It sounds like a good idea! Hmm!

Fusion is something that I would love to have, but as I have 3 off-road models and 2 rally cars and a third under construction, I cannot afford it. The speed control is amazing in it. Congratulations on a great truck 👍

Honestly don’t think it would be a choice of mine to rock crawl. Maybe some light trail driving. But it does have beautiful lines on that body. With great detail which is exciting.
@RCTNT2 жыл бұрын
Definitely pretty and once I get the right trailer on it, I think it'll be a fun trail drive too. Thinking I might make a flat bed trailer for it or something.

@@RCTNT check out a few of my vids on what trailer works best and for loading and unloading equipment. Not so much the Rc4wd lowboy but the quad axle I’ve got is the sweet spot for this rig. Working on my flagship mammoth and logging trailer now 😉

While I'm not in the market for this type of truck, I can see it's appeal. I've seen the same problem with driveshafts before, and was "fixed" with a small bit of heat shrink tubing. I also like the Hobbywing Fusion, I installed one in my TRX4 Sport kit. Lovely smooth!
@RCTNT2 жыл бұрын
The Fusion is legendary. Good thinking by HW. I've tried heat shrink on these things before but if it's torn open by a rock it doesn't last long. I've had better durability from tesa tape so far... But maybe a combo of both would be a winner?
@DaveGlitchHare2 жыл бұрын
@@RCTNT Maybe, but looks like your tape may last a while.
@RCTNT2 жыл бұрын
@@DaveGlitchHare I reckon it will, yeah! It's pretty decent stuff.
@YoShImUrA532 жыл бұрын
@@RCTNT Besides the classic heat shrink tube, for your particular application I've also considered a very small dab of Shoe-goo on either side of the pin hole -or some other somewhat elastic, but strong adhesive- to prevent it from running away, in any case. Maybe worth a test... it'd be almost invisible if it could hold up!
@RCTNT2 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I have that stuff here. I don't think it would work as well as the tape. It works best on the broad surfaces of the polycarbonate bodies on heavy bash trucks. Helps keep them from cracking to bits. But on the pins, I dunno-I suspect it wouldn't have enough surface to grab onto. The tape works really well so far and I know it's durable stuff. Best fix would be a grub screw to replace the pin and clip system. Maybe drill out the diameter a bit, maybe not. But I'll see how the tape lasts and we'll go from there. It sticks to itself really well, in all weather. Wonderful stuff!
@Andy_Yates2 жыл бұрын
Good looking truck there. Never heard of tesa tape before, it looks like good stuff! I couldn't help but see it looks like the trailer hitch might be flat mounted to the frame. Might be possible to space it up so it works with your heavy lowboy trailer but it sounds like you have some fun plans for the Zetros :). Not sure if you were on your property, but it sure looks beautiful 👍
@RCTNT2 жыл бұрын
The hitch should be moved a bit higher, yes! Didn't think of that but it's obvious now you say it. Thanks Andy! And yep, all filmed at home here. I know I'm lucky to be here!! Cheers

I have the 4x4 version. I built one of those overland tourer backs for it out of styrene and gave it some bar work and a fancy paint job. I have only driven it once. I ended up pinching the servo's for another project. Are you in QLD. I'm in Kilcoy QLD.

Very nice! I did a whole comp truck tray from styrene on my 6x6 RC4WD Beast II some years back. Was a very satisfying project. Sounds like yours was too - hope it gets back on the road again sometime! I'm just north of Melbourne, not anywhere near you, sorry! Happy trailing :)

I got the 4x4 version Zetros, didn't come with front dampers, fuel tank and some other scale bits. Managed to get those parts but the rear leafs are very soft.
@RCTNT2 жыл бұрын
How interesting! The leaves on the rear of this thing are super solid. They're designed for heavy loads and may as well not be there when it's empty! I guess the 4x4 is intended for different loads and fair enough. No front dampers is weird though. You enjoying the truck?
