Thanks for your time, Edward. Really appreciated the background to your family history. Big digital hug from Germany.

Re: 12 days idea, how about giving yourself a small ease of responsibility, by having the other players teaching a game they know really well. You'll still be on the hook for the camera work, chat window, intros & group discussion, but it might ease the workload.

Also, I drive a lot for work and recently binged the podcast from episode 1 to the latest episode (from a year ago btw! jk :p). Appreciate all the work and evolution of the show over the years. I miss having a next episode ready to listen but it’s inevitable I would run out of ammo. I still go back and listen to specific episodes for reviews or discussion if I have chance to buy or play a game you have covered. I know it’s a grind to keep churning out reviews to keep up with the times. Maybe just a review here and there for big releases like Arcs, or a sporadic mini review of old(er) games or recent games that came out of nowhere I really enjoy just listening to day to day banter about what games excited to play/acquire, what did y’all play at game day, what’s going on outside of gaming, hearing from other folks like the Boston crew, also really enjoyed JT (I think that’s his name) and Liz Davidson… and the interviews from designers/publishers. I guess I would say just put it out there if willing and people will listen. Oh..and more Age of Steam streams lol

Concerning "The Other Side of the Hill": Cool that you are giving your best to be sensitive on the topic. That's all that matters. The designers sound reasonable in their BGG-posts, so I wouldn't be too worried. The iron cross thing wasn't the best choice but we are all here to learn from each other and mistakes are the fastest way to learn.

Awww I missed the taco talk live. I recently saw a TikTok from a spot in MX..they invented a taco called el Trumpero (that’s what Mexican/hispanic trump supporters are called down here). It’s Al pastor based (because orange color) mucha lengua (lots of tongue meat) poco sesos (a little bit of brain) Brilliant, delicious satire

Don't worry, there's not much coffee/caffeine in a fastbucks drink 😉 Tag team solo can be really good to bring out alternative viewpoints, but also feels more sociable, and maybe that's more appealing to you as well? - Agree with the devil being in the detail re: 'other side of the hill'. If they give it sensitive but informed thought in the design, and thus offers the players that same opportunity to drive their own thinking, then there's likely to be value for some (but probably not for me - it's not something I personally feel like I want to explore). It's sensible to go in with a degree of caution. Whilst I'd agree that Spain/Italy can lag behind American social norms (uncomfortably so at times e.g. the now ex-head of the football association, and the scandal around him forcibly kissing one of the women's team), conversely there can be an expectation from Americans, that others should live by the American social norms of the day, without any thought/consideration to the different social history / culture in other countries. The rush to judgement can be painfully ignorant on places like BGG, and we saw that in relation to this game when the Essen giveaway blew up. I'm also frustrated by how combative US culture is these days, and how socio-political activists want to bring that front and centre to our hobby. The topics are usually important, but deserve more considered treatment than they get, resulting in division being driven into our hobby, and I am fed up with that. Good reasoned conversations (not arguments) are typically productive, and likely to generate useful insight to all involved, so thumbs up for trying to be considered in how you handle it. - Agree re: scales of time IRO of history. Roman slavery is glossed over, despite it being at the heart of the culture. True of many of the 'great empires' of our history, that we laud today. Re: the rise of the national socialist party, one aspect that has echoes today, is their focus on appealing to 'the common man', and improvements to worker's rights were a powerful weapon in driving their initial popularity. Was it a positive? I'm sure it must have been to the workers of the time. Do we see echoes of that today, in bundling populist measures with normalising bigotry? IMO yes.

As constructive feedback, I just don’t have 3+ hours to listen to a video, and would highly prefer shorter, more focused content that I can watch in 30 minutes or less. I value your opinion, but I can only really watch/listen to content on my limited free time.

Maybe watch it in 30-40 minute segments? Most of the games streamed on this channel are 3+ hours are you able to watch those ?

Totally understandable and for what it's worth, I wasn't expecting to go on for 4 hours, LOL. The general thinking I have coming into an AtE is this: I want to respect the time and effort people spend watching the show as well as if someone takes the time to ask a question, I want to show them that I appreciate and respect that they asked the questions, so therefore, I want to take the time to answer it. Some AtEs are only an hour, some, like this one, take far longer. So it's entirely dependent on the viewers. Hope that helps understand re: these specific shows.
