Cool video. I don't call my self an operator. I'm just a runner or lever puller . Before I start mine up I check the fluid levels and I can't stand dirty windows so I clean those . MSHA requires a preshift inspection report. We also have scales and have to do a few warm up lifts to activate it . I've found when digging is more tight piles like shot rock I will level the bucket and then just a slight bump forwards on the bucket lever helps to loosen up the pile . Some loaders have an automatic kick down so if your in second or third gear it will go to first when you hit the pile . I been running equipment for over 30 years and still don't know nuttin . Just a lever puller . Thank you for sharing your video I enjoyed it very much

Thanks for this video. I’ve been wondering for two years how the pit operators smooth out the ground so well with the loaders. I didn’t know you could make the boom “float”. Every time I’ve tried it I ended up digging a ditch! We have Cat loaders but I’ll guess that the “float” function works the same way. I’m going to try this the next time I have to load my own truck!
@HeavyMetalLearning6 жыл бұрын
Yes, should work in any brand (sometimes it’s slightly different in how to float it) but in general I’ve found just stabbing the right joy stick all the way forward will lock it forward which is float. Just make sure you only do this when the bucket is all the way on the ground already.
@davidedwards18556 жыл бұрын
+ExtremeSandbox Good advice! Thanks
@TeeKoon6 жыл бұрын
Maybe the float function might be defective,if it;s the case you have to hold it pushed foward, have it fix when you have the chance it;s not very long to have it done. You have a switch to have your bucket level too but rise the angle a little bit to be safe...don;t forget to clean your working aera of any rocks or debris before loading your truck, rise ur bucket gradually when coming from a distance close to the truck not too far or too close and dump in the midle of ur box by rising and pitching ur bucket! Don;t try to go too fast too, speed will come with the time.
@davidedwards18556 жыл бұрын
+TeeKoon thanks for the reply. I have had the chance to try the float feature since I wrote that first comment and it worked fine on the loader I was using (950 Cat). It was just the operator (me) who didn’t know how it worked before.
@SHAMBALLIN785 жыл бұрын

very good demo of wheeled loader . people saying its a one job machine when you got screens to feed wagons to load making ramps for huge stock piles safely. a wheeled loader is one of the most stressful and demanding jobs out there. been a operator over thirty years now . and been in situations that would send the faint hearted home for a clean pair of pants.

What gets me is the new guy gets paid the same hourly rate . and you will be carrying him for 6 months or more while he learns the ropes. When I use to work as a laborer on a construction job they built a temporary raised road out of dirt topped with gravel high enough to back a dump truck against the end of it kinda like a dock where you could dump trash and whatever else into the truck the road was very narrow with very little room on either side they told me to hop on it never drove a wheel loader I found that every time I turned the steering wheel I would get real close to the edge to the point of fearing I would flip the loader because the front-end or back-end tires hung off the side of the rasied road in what was I doing wrong ?

1.You need to walk round first to check the levels and grease the linkages, and then walk round again to look for problems, and you need to refill the fuel tank at the end of a shift. 2.Just pulling the bucket back to fill it only works in soft material. If you’re loading hard or coarse material you need to keep working the bucket up and down and only pull it back when it’s almost full. 3.You can’t level with a back blade; you need to get a good level first and then smooth it off with the back blade.
