If Jesus didn't abolish the Torah and God remembers His covenants forever, then Christianity has a huge problem.

@@thambone30 The everlasting covenants were not abolished, as God remembers His covenants forever. See Lev. 26:44-45 This would contradict the sayings of Jesus and the laws of Moses. NEW = Covenant restored with a righteous latter-day nation. "Not like the covenant that I made with their fathers...that they BROKE." "...I will place My LAW in their midst and I will inscribe it upon their hearts...Jeremiah 31:31-32 NEW = The laws so widely known, it will not need to be taught. "...no longer shall one teach his neighbor or [shall] one [teach] his brother, saying, "Know the Lord," for they shall all know Me from their smallest to their greatest, says the Lord." @@waitstill7091 the Hebrew word olam does not always carry the meaning of everlasting but can also mean an undetermined amount of time. Regarding the Hebrew word “olam” which some bible translations translate as eternity, a few lexicons respectively say this about its meaning (olam): 1) “hidden time, i.e. obscure and long, of which the beginning or end is uncertain indefinite…the days of old, ancient times,” p. 578. ( Edward Robinson, from Gesenius, 1850) 2) “[H]idden time, long: the beginning or end of which is either uncertain or not defined; eternity, perpetuity … of time long past, antiquity,” p.612 (DCXII). (Samuel Prideaux Tregelles, from Gesenius, 1895) Israel as a nation rejected God's Messiah as seen by the priests and men having authority in the day of Jesus and that old law covenant was no more after his death. Does Deut 18:18-19 qualify as a commandment that YHVH expects us to obey or He will utterly destroy?
@fivebooks849810 ай бұрын
That prophet being referred to is Yeshua. He said He will put His words in Yeshua’s mouth. We are told to listen to Him. If we don’t then we will be destroyed. Yeshua taught us to keep the Law. Christians who reject the Law will be destroyed. Yeshua said that many will do great works in His name but He will say depart from me, you workers of Lawlessness. They are people who simply reject the Law and do not obey the commandments in the Law.

The New Testament was about the FULFILLMENT of the Old Covenant law and prophets. But it was more than fulfillment. It was about the typological fulfillment of the Old Covenant world of Israel. The Old Covenant were just types and shadows of the spiritual fulfillment that was to come in the New Covenant age of the Church. All things written have been fulfilled, but they were fulfilled spirituality. You need to be born again with water and SPIRIT to see it, John.
@MrArtist1971 Жыл бұрын
@@70ad25 Born again? You're deceived if you believe this. The SPIRIT you refer to is no different than the lying spirit sent to Ahab. You're clearly disobedient to Torah and been led astray to destruction. Read Deut. 28. I'm praying Elohim delivers you and removes the scales from your eyes.
@70ad25 Жыл бұрын
@@MrArtist1971 Deut.28, that's the blessings and cursings of Torah. The Old Covenant Hebrews were disobedient to the covenant they had with Elohim. When the Hebrews collectively violated the Torah, an apocalypse happened like the time they were taken captive in Babylon. Did they keep the 613 laws? This is why they needed a Lord and Saviour, the Messiah Jesus. In the New Testament, the definition of sin is to break the laws of Torah, and the forgiveness of sin comes from the Messiah Jesus' sacrifice on the cross. We are now in the glory of the New Covenant where trying to obey the letter of the law "kills", but the Spirit of the law gives life (2 Corinthians 3). St.Paul said the Torah was holy and good. But keeping the SPIRIT of Torah is more glorious and will lead to righteousness in the New Covenant kingdom of Elohim. This was prophecied in Deut.30, 6, "the circumcision of the heart", a spiritual circumcision, the Spirit of Torah.
@MrArtist1971 Жыл бұрын
@@70ad25 The ONLY Lord and Saviour is Elohim. Read Is. 43;11. You guys keep repeating the same ol' heresy. The 613 laws include laws for women only, priests, etc. So, duh - of course you can't keep all of them. There is NO new covenant. Elohim said his covenant was ETERNAL. I'm sure you know what that word means. Your 'interpretation' of Deut. 30 once again proves that christians LIVE BY INTERPRETATION not the eternal words of Elohim. Praying Elohim removes the scales from your eyes. . . keeping the 'spirit' of Torah???? That is so esoteric it makes your head spin.

@@xaviercruz4763That’s not quite accurate. The eternal Torah pre-existed Mt. Sinai. Adam was taught it, Noah was taught it. Job knew it. Just because certain commands were not given all at once doesn’t mean a thing. Abraham walked with Yah for decades before Yah asked him to be circumcised. Doesn’t mean circumcision was invented right there on the spot. Just because a first-fruits offering is written down at Sinai doesn’t mean Adam didn’t teach his sons that. Just because the list of clean/unclean was written down at Sinai doesn’t mean Noah didn’t know the difference and what to bring on the ark. There are so many instances of people keeping the eternal Torah before Sinai it’s amazing that you could imply these were NEW commands. 😂 No commandment is every repealed. We never see that in all of scripture. So for someone to make the claims “Jesus/Yeshua changed the law” is craziness.

But i dont see Him removing what was previously stated like shabbat, a just day of rest for men and unclean eating 🍽 of animals, as i keep shabbat and others which i dont see in the new testament being done away with if one reads carefully and pray about it and i am willing to expound on the topic about why i believe that if a person wants to know the why of my faith like that.

@@xaviercruz4763 If Yeshua nullified a law like “eye for an eye” it would have made him a false prophet. He didn’t change that law in the least. He was simply correcting Pharisaic Judaism which was perverting the Torah. Jews were teaching that you could seek personal vengeance as long as it was “an eye for an eye”. But this law was for appointed judges in Israel, not for individuals to seek vengeance. Yeshua never added to, nor took away from the Torah inscribed at Sinai.

@@fivebooks8498 you've obviously not payed enough attention to Paul. Paul is an astounding grammarian, with an awesome attention to detail that he uses theology with. Paul also argued with a very high level of intellect. The issue is not that he was a bad teacher. The issue is people aren't good listeners or readers and thehre not familiar with the content he bases his teachings off of. Paul isn't the reason Christianity is lawless. Paul was PRO Torah. Inability of 3rd grade reading comprehension and a lack of drive to study or lack of knowledge or a lack of sincerity, or a combination of all of the above is what's wrong with Christianity today, among other things. But it's unfair to reduce that to Christianity. That problem existed in leaps and bounds among the Jews before Christianity existed, exists in leaps and bounds now, and if you follow the Bible goes all the way back to the first man. No reason for the blame game. If everyone understood Paul correctly the problem in the church would be worse, not better. If you want proof, go teach your church we still have to follow Mosaic instructions and see where you land.

Matt 5:17-19 is huge. The problem is he immediately contradicts it and spends the rest of the sermon adding to and taking from Torah. It's right there in better translations. “You have heard that it was said to the ancients: "Do not commit murder!" And, Whoever commits murder shall be liable to the Judgment. Ex. 20:13; Deut. 5:17” (Mat 5:21, LITV) He tells us the command of Torah. Do not murder. But then in the next passage, he *adds* to Torah. “But I say to you, Everyone who is angry with his brother without a cause shall be liable to the Judgment. (5:22a) This isn't Torah. It's "Yeshua" adding to Torah. He repeatedly does this throughout this sermon and throughout the other gospels. Now read Deut 12:32-13:9
