Its long been disproven that greek is somehow phoenician, first of all phoenicians got their vocabulary (not alphabet, they never had an alphabet prior to greeks inventing the alphabet ) from the greek cretans, and there are long been uncovered greek vocabulary dating back to approx 5.500bce plus there have been finds of other letters from the alphabet dating to 3000bce in a fragment. The whole world was of one language. from there the languages diverged. Of course there are going to be similarities and different groups are going to be a closer match to each other than the rest. At this point who was first is any bodies guess. No matter how good the evidence, it is still a guess. My theory goes much further and states that all mythologies and religions come from an ancient family known as the Cronides and that they travelled the world. Harvard's Dr Barry Fell also began to see connections and tried to prove it out but was attacked by Academia for his theories and also attacked because his PHD was in zoology and not anthropology.
