Grant, when you referred to Gen 3, The Sword, my thoughts immediately went to the Spiritual Armor of Eph 6!!! The Sword is The Word and Yeshua is the Word made flesh, and He is therefore the other Half! Just LOVE how God ‘proves’ it though, through the further explanation of the Hebrew word for ‘his soul’!!!! HalleluYah! Just lóve your indepth studies! Blessings from Stellenbosch!!

Just a question: In Hebrews 4:12, we read "The Word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart." - Could this have application on the half-shekel?

That is a very interesting connection. But I think the Hebrews passage is more about exposing what is hidden, whereas the shekel passages are more about how we are designed for connection.

If nobody can survive in isolation as a believer then how did Joseph survive in egyptian prison and not lose his faith?

Good point! But there is a difference between the person who has been exiled against his will, and the person who chooses exile. God gives grace to the first.
