Amen ! Thank you for sharing the significance of raising hands. I have been guilty of thinking that people are overdoing it in church when I see them with raised hands during worship. It reminds me of the verse on the bible where the israelites were in war and moses had his hands raised up. As long as he had his hands raised up, israel was winning but as soon as he lowered them to rest, their enemies started winning so people had to help moses keep his hands raised. This tells us of the importance of depending on god rather than our own effort.

I've studied Spanish in grade school in California and French in High School in Missouri, Greek in Bible College in South Carolina. I am almost fluent in Japanese (lived there for 7 years) so I have five other languages in which to compare Hebrew. Once a person learns how to pronounce the vowels in Hebrew, the consonants are very similar. Have confidence in reading transliterated Hebrew. Baruch Haba B'Shem Adonai, has all the vowel sounds of the Hebrew language. From there I need to develop my vocabulary. The writing system is the least important to me. Speaking, listening, understanding and responding all take precedence. Shilo, did you grow up in Israel/Yisrael? How did you learn English? I know you love music and worship so I would like to share with you a name of someone else (besides my messianic Jewish brothers & sisters) to listen to. Esther Mui who lives in Malaysia, has many Scriptural songs that will bless you as you worship in English. Apparently, she has a daughter who sings in Hebrew, Rebekah. You can find their worship on KZbin. The Holy Spirit, Ruach Hakodesh moves mightily through them too! Have no musical instrumental training, nor gifting but love to worship my LORD anyway. May the love of the Father, the grace of our LORD Jesus Christ, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

I learned English in school, everyone starts learning from 2nd grade till she 18, there are 3 levels you can choose to learn English, I chose the highest.
