Can't express how grateful I am to Professors who upload such in-depth lecture videos! I am an Audio-visual learner who likes to listen to lectures at their own pace - sometimes x1.5, sometimes x2, and when profs don't provide lecture videos beyond 3-hour in-person lessons, life becomes so tricky T_T. Thank you so much!!

WOW, the entire playlist is pretty much the course in of itself, thank for this. Ill be watching these videos before I dive into them in my textbook. Much Appreciated and what a talent for teaching.

No PowerPoint slide. What a relief. Very good and precise explanations that are pleasant to listen to.

By far the best and most thorough explanation of the model. I've watched 2 other videos on the subject and none of them compare.

After 10 minutes I'm still at 4 minute mark, every 30 seconds I pause the video and try to figure out how is he writing backwards
@fabiangauthier56175 жыл бұрын
Actually he is wearing his wedding ring on the right hand, I know this is true for orthodox church, but since he is working at cleveland and that they represent less than a 1% of the christians, we could assume he is actually catholic, therefore it would mean he simply reversed the recording so that we could read it normally :)
@km4l3174 жыл бұрын
@@fabiangauthier5617 so then we should assume he is left handed, since the hand with the ring is left. Therefore he is one of the 10% of the left handers in the world.
@hurmaes4 жыл бұрын
@@fabiangauthier5617 what do you mean by reversing the recording? How would the logistics work out? Where is the camera facing? lol sorry for the questions my caffeinated all-nighter brain is hyper.
@ploted454 жыл бұрын
@@hurmaes I mean that what you see as his left hand is actually right right one. The camera is facing the transparent glass, he is behind it writing. But since it would be a headache to write backwards, he flipped the recording of his video horizontally. It's as if you look in a mirror.
@nishantsingh53853 жыл бұрын
After recording the video it was inverted so that we see it correctly. Otherwise we see mirror image of letters rather than words.

Finally, for part 3's numerical example in the lecture, are you placing WL and RK as a sum of total labour and capital expenditure respectively, deducted from the total sales revenue generated for both shoes and computers respectively?
@sidharthtaank74854 жыл бұрын
amaxing video and great explanations, all the videos he does are very helpful
@UKiy884 жыл бұрын
Still unclear on the release of labour using the numerical example. If we release four workers from the shoe sector, one will be hired in the computer sector. On the other hand, four units of capital will move from shoe to computer sector. But this maintains the same ratio of labour to capital, and doesn't explain the shift along the L/K axis. Any help?

Professor, in part 2 of this lecture, what does the L_/ K_ represent? Is it the equilibrium wage to rental ratio between the labour to cost ratios of shoes and computers?

What book is prof. Kosteas using while presenting the model? (In 11:35 he turns the page.)
@gagarine426 жыл бұрын
I would say "International Trade" by Feenstra and Taylor. They do use an example with shoes and computer for HO model. Otherwise it can be (didn't check, perhaps they also use shoes and computer, I noticed a lack of imaginations in eco textbook) Krugman, Obstfeld and Melitz, International economics : theory and policy, Caves, Frankel and Jones, World Trade and Payments: An Introduction
@gummibearzrule5 жыл бұрын
It is feenstra! The same problem is in the book.
@aneeshssundaram167510 ай бұрын
Professor, in part 3 of the lecture, Rckc represents the payments to capital ratio right? Also in the percentage change formula in rental rate for shoe production, why is it PsQc instead of PsQs?
