Hectic End To Soybean Harvest & Semi Breakdown.

My name is Kendal Johnson, I’m a married 26 year old dad/farmer. I farm with my grandpa (papaw), dad, siblings, uncles, and several cousins. Our operation is called Stahl Farms, a family farm in Southwest Ohio. We farm corn and soybeans with lots of red equipment. My goal is to show a little bit of everything. I also agree on the comment of crazy land prices. We had to pony up $15,500/acre on our latest farm acquisition. It isn't getting any cheaper.

There was a guy local to me that sold 150 acres and it sold for 12,000 a acre that’s just about how every acre is around southwest Indiana

I feel your pain on land prices. A farm south of me went for big $ around 15k. It was two farms bidding against each other. Alot of non agricultural people don't like paying taxes for farm subsidies. They feel like they artificially prop up land prices. Also consider cauv.

Presuming your getting AES service , can you put solar panels on your barns/bins and get into net metering so you too can get paid for solar power? Figure you could get some money from those roofs if covered PV panels.

Chinese panels on good tillable farm land is insane. The number one asset is tillable farm land. Any crop grown on tillable farm land does a better job of capturing sunshine and turning it into something useful. The Chinese are laughing at us for destroying our number one resource the land! But what do I know? I just play in the dirt and grow stuff. Great video!

Trees do a better job with the sun. China has more solar panels installed than anyone else. I doubt they really care that much.
