Hector > Achilles. Achilles was just an overgrown manchild who killed for sport and just viewed war as a fun game to gain glory. Hector was an actual mature adult who felt regret over the men he killed, realized the consequences of war, and actually cared about his people, family and country. Hector fought for his loved ones and his home. Achilles fought for himself.

Hector is the true Hero of this story not Achilles. What is sad is that his sacrifices were all for nothing. First of all, this problem came because of his dickhead brother stole someone elses wife. Paris could have spared Troy going into war by dying honorably in a duel with Menelaus. But like a true whimp chicken shit, he pussies out of the fight at the expense of an entire Country Hector keeps defending. On top of it all, he gives intelligent warnings to his father and the other politicians in his country, but it always fell on deaf ears. The politicians and the priests were too arrogant to listen. It is not like they are the ones who is gonna lead the battle fronts. He also has to take responsibility for the death of Patroclus which, pissed off Achilles. While its understandable that Achilles be saddened by the death of his cousin (and gay lover actually), but come on! They were at war. Anyway, Hector loses his life, and gets his body dragged by Achilles' chariot. All for what? Troy burned anyway
