Thank you for this. I will be seasoning my Stump’s Classic this weekend so this really helps a lot. This is my first Stump’s so it will be a new experience cooking on it.

I'm looking at getting one of these myself. It's just me and my two boys, basically me but I like the room.

Perfect and a great size. Don't forget you can vacuum seal and freeze your pulled pork and brisket 😁

Late to the game but small suggestion. Place drip pan behind grates before spraying to catch the over spray and save oil. Plus keep your patio cleaner.

Thanks George, that will definitely help with the over spray 😁👍

What is your opinion on mixing some wood chunks in with the charcoal in the chute instead of just in the pan below?
@HectorsSmokeHouse6 жыл бұрын
Hi, I certainly know people that do that but I’ve never tried. My concern would be branching. If your woodchunks (due to being uneven) branch across the chute, you could end up blocking the charcoal and starving the fire. I have no problems with chunks in the ash pan, I only use wood for the first 2 hours of cooking. Everything I’ve read says meat only takes on smoke for the first 2 hours, so chunks in the pan is not difficult to manage. Hope this helps.

This video is great! Are you spraying oil up into the chimney shoot as well from bottom and/or top to keep the inside of the chimney from rusting out? Also did you coat that strip of metal on the front that the door touches? I see it turned to a seasoned brown but didn't actually see you spray/wipe oil on it. Thanks!

Hi Travis, I spray everywhere that is bare metal and gets hot during the cooking process. So definitely in the chimney and I did spray the bare metal where the seal touches.

Hectors Smoke House So does this mean that you also spray down into the Charcoal shoot as far as you can as well or just the very top and bottom as shown in your video?

Are you still cooking with your yoder? And did you do this seasoning too to it?
@HectorsSmokeHouse6 жыл бұрын
Yes, still smoking on the Yoder, still using it in Competitions. And yes, I did season the Yoder and the Weber Kettle. 😁

Very interesting video for complete BBQ beginners like myself. With the DigiQ attached did you leave the top vent wide open or did you need to close it up a bit so the DigiQ could control it better? Thanks for uploading.

Hi, I open the top vent fully at all times, with and without the digi Q
