@laelamarie1 It was one of the coldest winters northern Europe had seen. We were there for Easter and temperatures were still well below zero centigrade, up to minus 20 at night, but the days were already longer than the nights, which equates as spring 500 km north of the Arctic circle. The sun doesn't rise for 4 months during the winter.

@laelamarie1 Haha, well actually there was a festival, just not a music festival. A spring festival with reindeer sleigh races on a frozen over lake. Lapland is breathtakingly beautiful. Standing on top of a mountain on a clear sunny day having a clear view for 100 miles and seeing absolutely nothing was one of the most profound experiences of my life.
