I was lucky enough to see Hedwig and the Angry Inch at the Egyptian theater in Seattle. I wish I wasn't so emotionally stunted at the time to properly take it in and appreciate it at the time.

I had watched this musical before with somebody that was just a passer by, and I just watched this with my boyfriend (who came from this wicked little town in Mexico), and this musical made so much more sense and made me sob while watching it. The importance of sharing artistic experiences with the right people is just mind blowing. Then again I have lived through different shit too by this age than 12 years ago.

Incredible, just incredible. It’s 2022, and if I’m alive in 2032 I’ll still be coming back to this video. I have it on Apple Music, and it’s nice to have the middle verse in that one, but something about the version from the film just wrecks me every time I hear it. I understand they wanted to headline Hedwig on Broadway with a big name, but John Cameron Mitchell is/was Hedwig; always will be. I saw this in previews at the Jane Street theater in 1998. Not a big musical fan, but this one I love.
