Heers in 1999, on the Square, Springfield, MO

At one time, Heers Department store in Springfield,MO was the Ozarks' largest retail store. Before suburban malls and shopping strips, people came to Heers for clothing, appliances, furniture and more. But times changed, Heers move to the Mall, and the building sat empty. In 1999, the current owner shows what it looked like after Heers moved out. Heers then transitioned into an office building and in 2024 is a residential building with offices on the first floors.
