Heidi Hauge (born October 14, 1967 in Skien) is a Norwegian country singer. She started her career singing to dance with her husband Bjørn Arild Hauge in the 90s. In 1999, she was discovered by Showtime Records and the following year she released her first album Country Time, an album that sold 20,000 copies in a short time. Since then she has released a total of 9 solo albums with her versions of well-known country songs. Several of them have sold gold and platinum and she has established herself as one of Norway's best-selling country artists. She has also established herself as an artist abroad, and has been named this year's country singer in Germany, Denmark, the USA and Poland.

James Mack...Unless Heidi and perhaps a few of the Country singers from Ireland come to visit or tour the USA, the States hasn't had a Country singer who's worth a shit for years and years. The good ones, except for Willie, are all dead. So if your "still" means in the USA, I disagree. If you mean worldwide, I agree, Heidi being one of the best.

Those modern country wannabes should listen to this song and the country classics of the past to learn what true country music is supposed to be. Don't need artists changing the way country music was originally done. At least, Heidi Hauge and Heather Myles try to keep the classics alive. Check them out on KZbin and sample their music. Right you are Henry. Nashville is no longer country. Young people today don't know what country music really is. Artists like Taylor Swift, Leanne Rimes, Carrie Underwood, Faith Hill, Dereks Bentley, Trisha Yearwood and others only cater to the young generation. They pushed aside the old classics country artists like trash like Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Paycheck, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Kenny Rogers, Dave Dudley, Red Simpson, Del Reeves. No wonder why you don't hear these classic artists on radio.

Agree with the commenters. Heidi brings back real country of the old days, but better. Most country today is not country but pop and blue grass. Too often the banjo drowns out the other string instruments, and its not how soft, beautiful and from the heart, but how loud and fast you can play.

I had to play several Heidi songs before it dawned on me what I was looking for. I was hoping to find her doing a Hank Thompson song, my favorite years ago when I was on the prowl...On Tap, In The Can, Or In The Bottle. I must have helped Hank get rich, with all the rolls of quarters I dropped into the jukebox to hear that one song of his. Back then, I was one hot-looking chick, and I never bought my own beer. Please don't tell me I arrived too late for the party! Are you still making country music like this in Norway? The suits in Nashville have finally killed it here in the States. They somehow think pop music is country. I've been listening to nothing but country for 60 years, and it's obvious there's nothing country coming out of Nashville today. The best we have to offer over here is Bluegrass. Can't even find a good country station here in Dallas.
