I still think Heihachi should have stayed dead after Tekken 7. That was the perfect send-off for his character, turned Kazuya into a serious threat as an antagonist in Tekken 8, and gave the overall story a feeling like it was actually moving forward. I could understand them making Heihachi a non-canon addition to Tekken 8 to keep his perfect attendance record intact, but there was no need to completely ruin the storytelling of the past two games for that.

Yep it feels like that final punch from Kazuya based on his rage was all for nothing. Or if they wanted to bring back heihachi do like a ritual with Ogre's blood and Reina's blood to become more powerful.

I think bringing him back AND keeping him in the story was a bad idea. They could have just said "for Tekken's 30th Anniversary we're gonna bring back Heihachi" and he wouldn't have any story relevance at all. I wish Tekken would have just done a Nightmare Geese. Just because he's playable, doesn't mean he has to actually be back back y'know? Even NRS got this right with Joker in Injustice 2.
