Heihachi's Story in Tekken 8 is UNBELIEVABLE!

So, Tekken 9 is buffed Heihachi and devil Reina (most likely even more devils since Heihachi was talking about multiple people awakening their blood aka devil genes) vs everyone else now that Kazuya and Jin lost their devil genes (which was still barely enough for Kazuya to beat a weaker Heihachi). I’m sure it will be a fulfilling story with no ridiculous asspulls.

I'll say, given the Tekken monks have very clear literal mystical abilities, its possible they just made it seem like Heihachi fell into the lava for Kazuya, while they rescued him, like some sort of illusion. It also does make sense for them to choose Heihachi, if their goal is to learn the ultimate technique and restore the style to its pure state, Heihachi is the best user of the style by far, Jin even abandoned it up until the last fight in 8, and Kazuya is Kazuya. Furthermore, a man with no memories or past like amnesia Heihachi is about as pure as it can get, if he got the power without the memories, their goal would be complete, however unlucky for them, his past self overpowered his memory loss version when they came back It's also not like his memories coming back came out of nowhere, the monks themselves even acknowledged the risk of bringing up his memories to accelerate his progress. Him beating the past Heihachi didn't erase that version of himself, especially since by that point he already had seen flashes of the past, he'd need his past erased for that, and to also never see Kazuya or Jin or Jun or Reina again

Okay let’s assume their ‘mystical’ abilities made it seem like Heihachi fell in the lava. But how were they SO certain that Heihachi would have memory loss? It makes no sense and it was a bs way of bringing him back after literally hyping up T7 as the final showdown between father and son..

Those monks have horrible judgement if they really thought that Heihachi got rid of his inner demons that easily. The writing is horrible, too bad fighting game stories ain’t a main focus for most titles even tho it has the potential to be great.

@@EikoHiyoshi The monks, the way they are, were unnecessary and stupid. I thought they would be a faction created by Heihachi for a smaller elite army. It’s hilarious that they knew who Heihachi was and decided to bet on him never recovering from Amnesia. If they wanted them to be like this from the very beginning, it would’ve made more sense if they took Jin at the end of 6 and train him instead. But of course this is what happens when they are going for the shock value resurrection of Heihachi and they have to pull something out their cheeks. Honorable mention: Kazuya was watching while Heihachi fell into the lava and still took his time to talk to himself. But somehow he missed a monk saving Heihachi, like… lmao. This is the kind of asspull resurrection that’s just too much for me. At least they went with the psycho energy + science route with Bison, but this is the equivalent of Bison getting teleported away at the last moment by a Street monk and somehow no one saw it.

i will say as tl:dr for the written story added after you finish the dlc, it does hint that tekken 2 angel is actually jun, and also ofc the new hachijo clan lore you read. there are some other small bits of extra lore added/clarifications made. honestly for me the written lore was more interesting to me because it talked about stuff that i personally cared about more than "omg, heihachi has MORE POWER"

They said it all should be back running today hopefully. So I’ll finally have a chance to give Heihachi a try and see what’s going on with this story. 🙏

@@silversoul2770 thanks. yea we got extremely lucky in my neighborhood. The eye of the hurricane went directly over us. The surrounding areas were demolished but somehow our home and most of our neighbors were ok. Just a few trees down and some minor damage. Not everyone was as lucky unfortunately.

My biggest issue with this dlc story is that its dlc. Like… this should’ve been part of the main storyline, just like how Heihachi, Lidia, Eddy should’ve been on the main roster. Reselling older main roster characters (or Lidia being dlc twice back to back) is ridiculous. The latter 3 were absolutely not interesting enough on their own to carry a standalone story mode. The Heihachi parts were okay, but everyone betting on him never recovering from amnesia was nasty, like that’s over the top stupidity.

Yeah, this couldn't get more tekken. Written poorly, has it's cliches, the story is roundabout for no reason. But that just makes it that much more endearing. And those who hate it, just have to take it for what it is.

Then they shouldn't have put so much stock and shined such as serious light on the 7 and 8 stories. Its not only just about what's been done in the past. We can't just disregard what's happened recently. Add on the fact they literally marketed 7 as "The End of the Mishima saga" or whatever. The story expansion confirmed it was a lie. They literally subverted our expectations in the worst way. The other reason why people care is because the writing is terrible lol. I'm not gonna care about the characters I enjoy if the aim is to just throw shit at the wall and see if it sticks. Don't bother wasting funding on making story dlc and furthering this if its just gonna be bad, it just doesn't make sense. There's a way to do turn your brain off fun and this is definitely not it. Looking like the Fast and Furious franchise now.

Yo, so if Reina was supposed to be a baby and Heihachi went and killed the Hachijo clan after (throwing young Kazuya off the cliff), doesn't that imply Reina should be in her 30s? How is she younger than Jin? A lot more questions need answers. That's not even the most pressing issue from this dlc lore wise. Tekken Monks betting on Heihachi to never regain his memories while knowing everything that he had done has to be the most idiotic thing I can think of. And how exactly does a meteor strike the world every 200 years? Huh?

There's no reason to assume Reina's clan was murdered directly after Kazumi. Heihachi had Lars nearly twenty years after he killed Kazumi to make sure he didn't have the gene.

Honestly, this single hour completely contradicts so much of the lore. Harada confirmed Jinpachi created Mishima style, so who tf are these random bozos that apparently existed for 100s of years. Also Heihachi has dialogue in Tekken 8 with Kazuya, "You think some measly lava could stop me" implying he was actually in the lava, so I really think the jobber monk dude saving him was a last minute change.
