y'all i finally found out the meaning of this song and mv! it's about two friends who have friendzoned each other through pranks and playing around because they are too scared to confess their feelings and they can't seem to confess it to each other. that's why they're being super playful in the mv but super affectionate in the lyrics. it's called "and july" because they know that their "friendship" is a ticking time bomb - if they continue this unhealthy behaviour, they both will get hurt (literally in the mv). they try in may and june, but finally in july, they finally talk to each other.

I love the retro hip hop feel the song carries. As a hip hop fan, I love hearing old samples and the way it complements the jazzy wide makes me feel like I'm in a turbulent relationship.
